Okay, Wendy came out sparkling white after her bath except for one area -- the insides of her front legs. She uses the paws to wipe her face and instead of stains on her face, they are on her lower legs. I thought bathing her would solve the problem, but it only lightened it.

How do I get her front legs white?

This is a good question. Alaska always has white legs and paws post bathing tho with me of course she cleans her own eyes more than I do because she is quite opposed to me cleaning them as thoroughly as I need to .. so her sweet little legs and paws are stained orangey-yellow and then she'll actually lick enough to get that pretty clean too. I've tried some things in the past and gotten batted, hissed and growled at.. my cat the control freak :roll:

Dan, EyeEnvy on paws isn't so silly. It would work, but I'm hoping there is a cheaper something to use.

The bath part, Wendy didn't like. She kept trying to climb out of the sink over me. I got fairly soaked! For the drying, she was great, especially once she figured out the blowy-thing felt good and got her dry.

Keep in mind I have NO experience with whites, but have been told you mostly have to let a stain grow out and just keep cleaning the new fur so it doesn't get stained. You could try a whitening shampoo, not sure if that would help. Jerob makes a good one called Snowy Blue (I think).

<grumble, grumble, grumble>
To let it grow out and be white, I'll have to clean her paws frequently. If it's not eyes, then it's paws. :roll:

Anyway, thanks. (The shampoo sounds easier.)

Linda, I have a water softner and I also put a little Calgon lavender scent in the water. I have noticed a huge difference in Talia's legs and over all hair since I started adding the Calgon. Don't know if it works or just happened. I thought mabe you could wash them with a paste of baking soda and a little lemon juice to help with the staining.

It's on the inside of her front legs just about the foot.

Isabel had a bit of staining there when we got her, but cleaning her eyes has stopped the staining so it has faded. Spencer doesn't clean his face so no staining. And like Bluie, it doesn't show on Olivia or Clarissa.
