He may be ready, but is she?  If she's not ready, he might hurt her.  Males can sire as young as 5-6 months (rare, but possible!)

My male actually started humping my blanket when he was about a year old! I did not have a female around at the time, so he was confused....and yes the urine smelled so much more stronger! He walked around and called at night as well..Sounds like your male is ready to go!

The rule of thumb is to breed on the 3rd or 4th heat - especially on a girl that's never had babies.  She's of age - I would probably let him try.  It's likely he'll miss the first time, but he might mess up her coat too much to be shown.

In my humble opinion, I would say he is good to go but if you are still showing your girl,
she will not be in condition for long with your boy all over her attempting to learn the horiziontal mambo.

I had a stud that came it at 7 months and I thought nothing of it and just laughed at him.  Needless to say, a few months later I was eating crow and building a condo!

My males tend to come in to maturity at 18 months.
None of them Spray.
So I am a happy camper.

My first male, my retired black & white bi-color Persian, started to breed at the young age of eight months.  My two retired Himmie males sired their first litters around 17 & 18 months of age.  My current male is a solid black CPC Persian who turned two years old on March 29th... I'm still waiting on him to sire his first litter for me.  Hopefully we do FINALLY have a couple girls pregnant here, but it's too soon to tell.
