Hi ,
Would love to know how much of a difference in size between the male and female is acceptable, without running into problems with birthing. I have'nt bred my girls yet, because my male is at least twice their size!
They won't breed with him if there's too much of a risk.

Many Thanks,
Genevieve

That would depend on the size of your girl. If you mean she is 7 pounds  and he's 14 pounds, or is she 4 pounds and he's 8??

I would be more concerned with the size of the girl (meaning SHE needs to be a decent size) than I would the size of the boy.

Thanks for your reply, Linda,

It's more like the girls are between 4.5  and 5.5 lbs and he's 9 lbs!
I think you are right, I won't breed them.

Many Thanks

I'm not a Persian breeding expert by any stretch of the word.  But, my queens were all around 4 - 5 lbs, when I got them.  I was told sometimes, they are a bit low on weight, until they breed?  The weights sound average,
with what I've experienced thus far.

Not sure, I'll leave it up to those who have been successful.

I would imagine it would be like humans, though: depends on the gal.  I had
friends in high school who were tiny, one had twins, and went back to being
her usual tiny self.

Some will have easy births, some will not.  Nutrition can help.

My girls run 6 1/2 pounds and my mail 12 pounds.
They are all silvers.
That is close to a one to two pound ratio between male and female.
Mine have no troubles giving birth and the kittens have no trouble surviving after birth.
