Bluie from the window to long. He has got to know my feeding times for him and show ups right on the dime.. yesterday, was a busy day I had to go to my moms, she is back in her own home, and show a tax accessor around and inside her home. They doubled her taxes and value of her home. which was idiototic.  I showed them around and we got to the cellar, the house is 185 yrs old, historic, it had a dirt cellar, and very SPOOKY, I said, ok, lets look at the cellar, he says , no , that is ok, I say, yes, we should.. so I turn the light on, one came on but not the bottom at the bottom in the SPOOKY  part, he stands on the bottom step and I say, let me get a flash light, then I smiled, and said, be careful , the boogy man lives down there. he eyes got big as saucer, (you know how men are) started back up the steps, saying , you watch to many spooky shows, I said, you must to, other wise why are you coming back up. I get the flash light and then he finishes.. I am still laughing inside.
Scrappy, was all ears, since as you know he is blind. He is moms cat, and he is looking so much better, getting around blind. but sometimes gets in a corner and gets confused and calls out to us.. Mom moved a chair and was he upset. we put it back. It was a nice day and he kept going to the door to smell the air under the door as he use to go out. Finally , I picked him up and took him out for a walk around in my arms. He could not get enough of the fresh air, but when I got away from the house a little he put his paws around my neck and held on tight. but he loved it..
Well, back to may stray, Mark-us, I got back late around 11 am and it was way past his feeding time. I am standing in the kitchen window. and I see him sitting so pretty, just watching me thru the window.. I had to laugh , I went from one window to the other and he would move outside so he could see me. He just kept staring at me, then I know , he wanted his food.. so I get the food, and when I step outside he hides behind the shed, I call him and go back in. No more than my food came inside the door , he was eating his breakfast, sat and looked at me and washed his face.. now I know I am a cat servant.

Oh, your official notification must be held up in the mail!

I'm in PA and our county did property re-assessment too.  It's a big contraversy.  My Aunt lives next door to me and hers barely increased.  Our house is bigger and old (Money Pit) and eventhough we don't have the vinyl siding, the 5 star windows, the central air, the garage, etc...our taxes were higher.  We felt pretty bad until the poor man next door revealed his nearly doubled!  His house is almost a cookie cutter of ours but on a smaller lot.  Proof that there was no rhyme or reason to the assessments!  I feel terrible for your Mom.  I hope they re-evaluate SENSIBLY!

after he saw the whole house including the wonderful dirt cellar, he said, we will send you a letter and let you know if any changes are made and if you do not agree you can attend a grivence meeting, I told him he could save tax payers money, tell me, now, and if I don't like it I will be there ready and able.. he gave me a look, like, oh, Lord, help me.. and I gave him one, you will need it.. smile

Pat, that is funny! I would have loved to have seen that man's face going down in the spooky cellar!!

It is wonderful that you are giving Mark-us food and taking him to the vet but...the question is....how does Miss Bluie feel about sharing her servant with Mark-us?

Pat, congrats on being chosen as servant extraordinaire to Mark-us!  Is it Mark-us who is on his way to the vets???  To be neutered and/or examined???  Sounds like Scrappy at your Mom's is doing well ... great to hear about the sweet boy!  Interesting story, too, about the tax accessor ... hopefully he'll decide your Mom's taxes should be wayyyy lower!

Special hugs to Miss Bluie ...

Bluie is on her way in an hour to get her chip in and have an oral flea med. They have a pill that may work for her..

HAHA!! Pat, it is that special time of year, I guess.  The girls also have a studly looking stray admirer.  He is so gorgeous.  I want to trap him and keep him (after he is neutered of course).  He is a blue point himi mix, I believe.  He has a medium long coat and points of a himi and he is huge!!  He has taken a liking to my girls.... Phoebe, being a huge flirt, is thrilled and likes to tease him!!  Pandora has a crush on him, too, I think.  (He is a good looking boy!!)  Piper, on the other hand, perfectly and always loyal to her Leo, wants absolutely nothing to do with him and hisses and growls whenever she sees him!!!

 That's priceless that he was afraid to go into the cellar. I'd love to have an old house like that. I LOVE historic homes. I have a few strays in my neighborhood that I have taken to giving food and shelter as best as I can. I tried like heck to get one and put him in a carrier to bring to my vet for a vaccination and neutering. The vet I go to helps with that for strays, which is great.
