I'm very sorry to keep you all waiting but I spent most of yesterday afternoon trying to get some much needed sleep. Miss BonBon decided it was a good idea to go into labor yesterday @ 1:40 AM.   I'm very pleased to announce that BonBon & Noir are the proud parents of one BIG baby boy born 09/05/08 @ 2:15 AM... he weighed exactly 4.0 oz at birth!!  Shocked   I have affectionately nicknamed this precious boy "Uno".  Uno is a Himalayan and judging from his body color he is most likely a seal point. BonBon & Uno are doing great... she is a wonderful first time mom.  I just weighed the baby again this morning and he is up to 4.4 oz. I think Uno is going to be one chubby baby with all that milk all to himself and also very spoiled being a 'singleton'.

Although I'm slightly disappointed that she only had one kitten and no visuals, I'm very thankful the delivery went smoothly and BonBon is being a fantastic mother to Uno.  There's always next time and hopefully I have three girls due before the end of the year.

I will be sure to post pictures of Uno as soon as his eyes open.

That's wonderful!
A 4 oz. baby was NOT easy for any girl let alone a 1st timer. Wishing you all the best with your little one. I look forward to seeing photos.

Thank you all for your congratulations!:flower:  I failed to mention this baby was born feet/tail first so it was a little nervewracking with the baby being so large.  She did fantastic though and the baby was delivered quickly.  Hopefully next time she will have more than one baby and they will not be as big.  Uno is only the 2nd kitten born here that was 4.0 oz. at birth... most of my babies average around 3 oz. or so.

Boy do I feel slightly embarassed this morning.    While I was weighing Uno this morning I decided to take a peek back there to double check the sex of the baby.  Uno is a SHE... NOT a he!!   I'm usually very good at determining the gender of a kitten... never been wrong... until now that is.      Oh well, I guess this happens to us all sooner or later.  I'm just glad I discovered my little mistake very early on.  Shocked

So it looks like we have four color possibilities for little Uno... tortie point, blue-cream point, seal point or blue point.  I will let you all know what color she is when her point color comes in.

I'm happy to report that BonBon and Uno are doing very well.  The baby is up to 5.2 oz. and now has not one but three "mothers". Skittles and Cookie have decided to take part in raising little Uno.  It's quite the sight watching all three fuss over one little baby but BonBon seems to welcome the extra help.  La-La and Muffin also seem interested in Uno but are keeping their distance.

A quick update on Uno.  One week old today and she's growing like a weed!  At this morning's weigh-in she weighed exactly 7 ounces!  Looks like she will more than double her birth weight before turning two weeks of age very easily.  As far as her coloring goes, it looks like she's going to be a blue-cream point as her front pawpads have both blue and pink.  Her eyes have started to open and she already purrs when I pick her up and hold her.  She loves to have her fat, little belly rubbed too!  It's so funny to watch her because she is already crawling around the nursery pretty well for a one week old baby.  This is what I use for a nursery for my moms and babies...

http://www.zippy-cages.com/zippy3.htm

They call it a travel cage but I honestly don't view it as a cage at all because I only keep it zipped up enough to keep little Uno safely inside and at the same time, allow BonBon to come and go as she pleases.  My moms and babies always seem very comfortable in their nursery.

Pictures of Uno will be posted as soon as her eyes have fully opened.
