My cat loves cream cheese.  Have only let him lick it off my finger a couple of times.  Can it do him any harm?

Cream cheese is fine for cats.  In fact, I have a recipe for kitty pudding (or kitten glop) that calls for cream cheese.  I use this for my kittens during the weaning process and the moms love it too!!

My vet suggested hiding a pill in cream cheese.  Sasha still didn't take the pill, though. :?

I think that cream cheese is o'kay in moderation but not on a regular basis and in large quantities. In my opinion it is too fatty for kittie's liver and they use salt and maybe sugar (I don't remember, sorry) which is not very good for a kitty if they get a lot of it.

I do not give cream cheese to Julian (but I give him farmer's cheese with no salt) but if I did, I would add some water into it to make it not that fattening.

Well my cats & kittens do not get straight cream cheese.  It's only one ingredient in the recipe I have for kitty pudding.  It also has goat's milk, water, egg yolks, yogurt, etc.  So I highly doubt the amount of cream cheese contained in the amount my kittens eat during the weaning process can do any harm.  I've been using this recipe for years without any problems.

Tosca likes a little bit of any kind of cheese every now and then.  Cheese is a good source of calcium and protein.

Tracy, I liked your receipe and I'm going to try it for Julian. It seems healthy to me but that what exactly what I was talking about - just lots of cream cheese is not very healthy but if you add water, egg yorks, yogurt etc., it will be definitely healthy!

Thanks for the good idea!
