Funny this topic has been brought up today for me to see it. I have a kitten and an adult who are sloppy sloppy sloppy drinkers. I've been trying for 3 days to get them to take to the water bottle. I've been nervous as heck because I don't want them to become dehydrated. I too did the tuna juice, with no luck. I've spread butter and canned food on the tip with no luck. I've been putting the tip in the mouths to drip, still no luck. So tonight I went with goats milk and water inside the bottle. Now finally they are getting the idea. Still not there yet... but it's getting some results.

You get one cat on it you can get them all on it. They will copy each other. I dont have any bowls in my house. Even my kittens start on water bottles.
Thing is the best way to GET them to drink from the bottle is if they are thirsty. If you keep putting the water bowl down they'll never learn - they'll know the bowl is coming eventually.

You can also try chicken broth mixed with water. The "store brands" don't usally have onion or garlic added.

Linda is an expert at getting everyone on the water bottle! Even her grandchild is on one! ROFL! But seriously, I have all mine except one on the water bottle, and that includes both my dogs. It makes things so much easier and the water is so much cleaner!

I have a water bottle for over a month now and haven't started training yet. I'm just so much afraid to move away the bowl with water, I don't know whether they'll use water bottle or not...
I need to give it a try.
