Zeus came from the breeder with Iams kitten. My other cats eat Wellness Core. I am slowly switching Zeus to the Core as well. He doesn't really like it much but his eyes are already clearing up and we haven't had many tears for the last two days.

What do you feed your cats?

that's great that you're seeing tear improvment!  Over the day, Phoenix eats between 1/2 and 3/4 cups of dry food thats a mix of Royal Canin 30 Persian and Wellness Core.  She does like the RC more than the Wellness tastewise.  I can't say that I've noticed a change in her tearing since introducing the Wellness 2 weeks ago, but she's super-smooshy-faced and tears quite a bit.  I haven't found a wet or raw meal plan she'll eat, but I continue to try to introduce variety...

Abner and the other cats eat Taste of the Wild. They are all doing fantastic on it, and Abner has much improved in the tearing department. When I adopted him, he had a lot of tearing, now he just gets a small amount.  He really enjoys the food as well, which is helpful

i feed natural balance ultra premium in the bright pink bag. i like using this one as its for all life stages. Although i do not like that the price has gone up and the bag size has gone down. i have thought about using innova evo..any thoughts on this food? worth the extra 6.00 it will cost me? lol!

I think Taste of the Wild is cheaper than the Wellness, we may try that next...if we ever finish this bag. Does anyone mix dry food? I would get so bored eating the same food everyday. I do mix up the wet food.

what is this "taste of wild"? who is it made by? did not know any of them helped with the tearing either..I just go old fashioned way of washing couple times a day and putting lubricant drops in his eyes.
love this site learning more everyday..
hope all have a great day!

Link about Taste of the Wild.  My cats love it too.  We use for evening and night snack and I have to order it on line.  I've mixed two kinds and sometimes 3. If you can't get one, there's no tummy issues

Cats don't think like people do. Personally I don't like to change up my cats' food - but that's just me. I feed Natural balance and raw but, again that's just what I do. I think it's best to find what works best for your cat, you and your budget.

My mom, in spite of my rolling eyes - buys food because the bag looks cute. Her cats are healthy as horses and have good weight - who can argue with that??

I've gone from raw, partial raw, homemade, to Eukanuba Lamb & rice, to Royal Canin 30 Persian, to now trying whatever on earth they will eat in two sittings!

When you have a cat with Renal Failure, and the other two are young, you just gotta stop leaving the kibble out.  So, I mix canned with kibble, and they all seem to like it - but being angry about not having it out all day.

Royal Canin impressed me, but then I haven't heard of many pet food companies that actually try to figure out what's best for each type of cat, and what they chew the easiest.  Purrvette now only gets it as a few treats each day, and Cheshire & Stephie LOATHE it!

I'm most likely going to have to make Purrvette's food, as they will give me recipes for it - she's only licked the juice off the foods, instead of chewing them for now.  But then, she does have a UTI, so I'm being patient with her.

Oh, the two longest living cats I've ever known, Jennifer (23 years), Snow White (18 years), both ate (drum roll please): CAT CHOW!

Nestle has really done quite a bit of research of late, and Purrvette likes their Renal Diet kibble as tasty snacks,   At least they gave me a huge, reusable bag to try all these different foods!

I used to feed Iams and EVO but saw that they were not doing that great. I had a litter of Kittens that I was trying to get to eat dry and they just were not taking to it. I even tried canned EVO and even Science Diet AD and that didn't work either. I then switched to Chicken Soup For The Pet Lovers Soul Kitten and could not believe the difference in all of them. My kittens put on weight and everyone's eyes looked brighter and their poops were firmer and not as smelly. It is awesome stuff!
I have a breeder friend you swore by Wellness until she noticed a change in her cats. She thinks that once it went into the big stores they changed the formula to save money. She is now feeding hers what I feed mine, and loves it.
