In CFA, are exotics only bred to exotics considered exotics? Can they be bred with Persians and still be an exotic?

All exotic breedings are registered as exotics, even if the offspring has long hair.
In other words if mom is a zot, and dad is a pure persian, the offspring will all be registered as exotics, and visa -versa.
Hope this helps

Okay, so the vice versa doesn't happen. IE a persian with a zoti resulting in LH is always a zoti. But if a persian with a zoti results in SH it's a zoti. I was wondering because I thought I read somewhere that LH zoti's aren't showable? Is this right?

Long hair exotics can only be shown in CFA as AOL(any other variety) as they are not recognized. They can be shown in TICA or FIFE I believe.I know for sure they can in Tica, as they are recognized by them.

And in the CCA (Canadian Cat Association), all Exotics (SH/LH) are showable and earn championships.  In CCA, it is also okay to use Persians as an outcross ... all offspring are registered as Exotics (registered in CCA as: Exotic shorthair if short-haired and Exotic Longhair if longhaired).
