Hello,
I so appreciate all the great information on this site! I have a chocolate pt. male and I was wondering if it is acceptable to breed him to a bi-color? Can offspring from this mating be registered and shown in CFA? I only have Himmy's, but love bi-colors and someday hope to add one.
Thanks to all,
Stacy

A himi and a bicolor can produce pointed bicolors, which cannot be shown in CFA (they can be shown as AOV - which is "all other varieties" but they can't make finals or get any points) They can be registered with CFA though. If you are trying to put together a breeding program with hopes of showing in CFA I would not recommend the breeding.

Looking also towards the future (selling kittens), Himi people will not want bicolors or pointed bicolors and bicolor people will not want bicolor CPCs.

That's why it's important to do some research and ask questions before begining a breeding program - mostly you are going to get the answers from people who have made mistakes before!!
