I wasn't able to contact the vet before "Titan" had already had his surgery. So, I'm combing him as much as I can. I've gotten several of the matts out, but he's probably going to have to be shaved anyway. He's a good boy, and just lays in my lap and lets me come him. Well, until he has had enough, then he jumps down. He's eating better this morning and seems to have more energy. He is laying beside my chair as I write this. I'm thinking I may have to ease into the bath thing...I sprayed a dry hair de-tangler on him and he jumped down off my lap, stopped gave me a "what the heck was that look" and went into the other room and laid on the rug. We're doing fine, and he's going to be a great companion for me.

Hi David and welcome to the site. Congratulations on being adopted by this very handsome boy! He looks to be a copper eyed cream. I think the suggestion of getting him shaved down while he is under for the neutering is a great one. Run it by the vet. Those mats can be very painful so he it would be wise to start fresh with his coat and a good comb. I think he is a very lucky kitty as you seem to be quite attached already. Good luck with him and keep us posted on his progress.

This morning I got up, and there sat Titan in "my" chair. That was my first indication he was taking over.....

hahaa they take over everything eventually hahaha! I have a tip for the spray on tangler & smelly spray stuff. spray it on your hands good & wet then RUB it in to his hair. I do that with the dogs because they dont liek sprays.. they sit still if I rub it on em.
