Greetings all!

Here are some helpful instructions on how to post pictures of your furry friends.  Please note: your photos cannot be uploaded to our server.  However, if you have photos on other sites (such as Kodak, Snapfish, Webshots, etc.), you should be able to display those here.

1) Go to the website where your picture lives and right-click on the photo.  When the box pops up, click on Properties.  Within the Properties box, you should see something like "Address/URL" that tells the exact location of the image file.  Highlight the entire thing and copy it (Ctrl + C OR right-click and choose Copy).

2) Come back over to Persian-Cats.com and within your forum message paste that Address/URL.  (To paste, use Ctrl + V OR right-click and choose Paste.)

3) Once the image URL is in the body of your message, highlight the entire URL.  Now do you see all the buttons above your message?  Click on the one that says "Img".  (Remember, your image URL should still be highlighted as you click the Img button.)  You should see some little img tags appear around your URL.

4) If you are finished composing your message, click the "Preview" button to verify that your photo is displaying properly.  If it is, click Submit!

Purrs,
Lindsay

These instructions are based on Internet Explorer 6.0 and Windows 2000.  If you are using a different browser or operating system, there might be some slight variations.

Sometimes while using Internet Explorer, and some other browsers, the Cut, Copy paste options are only accesible by clicking the EDIT menu option at the top of the browser,as opposed to using the right click mouse option. After clicking on edit, you should see a menu with the options copy, cut, paste, and select all. Hope this helps.

Resize pictures, especially for your sig tag, you can use ShrinkPictures

http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

select your picture, then check off custom size, change to 80, then click resize.  You can then email the picture to yourself and upload to someplace like Photo Bucket

Bryn, Photobucket now offers you an edit option where you can resize.  Test a couple of images first.  When enlarging you will lose quality.  It is always better to reduce rather than enlarge.  Try enlargements of 200% and 150% and see how they look.  May I ask what camera setting are you using?  Or what is the actual photo pixel size when you upload to your computer for viewing?

Sad This picture thing is a real problem for us too. We have only been here a few days, but nothing I do works.
We even went to the Image Shack place, but I guess I still don't know what I am doing. I only use the part that tells you to upload your photo, so maybe I am in the wrong place?
