Well, I have used Swheat Scoop litter for a number of years now, and would recommend it to others looking for a new brand to try.

I prefer clumping and flushable litters, and this product offers a safe and natural material in this category.

It is a bit dusty, and tracks somewhat too, but I find they all do.
And for a multi-cat home... a bit on the pricy side.

However, over-all I'm very pleased with Swheat Scoop, have found it the best for me and my cats. :paw:

I love Swheat Scoop, too.  I hate the dust, but it is safe for kittens and keeps the smell down between scoopings.

I just bought a container of multi cat crystals that I want to try in one of the small boxes.  I was trying the Feline Pine scoopable, but the cats track it everywhere and while it does work, I need to try to keep the tracking down to a minimum.

The crystal litter is also safe for babies.  It is also great for keeping the bacteria level down by not allowing warm moist urine or stool to be in the litterbox.  This litter will dehydrate both urine and stool therefore keeping the bacteria at bay.  It must be sifted daily.

Fresh Step makes a crystal litter and so does Mimi which you can get at Walmart.  The Mimi is $3.85 after tax here in Indiana and that is for a 4lb bag.  That bag will fill 1 large litterbox.

We use it here with adults and kittens alike.

The family has always used wood.  Nothing special just wood pellets.  I tried 'Yesterday's News' for a while but I found it smelly.

I use a litter called CATSAN.    It is a pure white, non clumping litter that is very good with regards to odours.   I have tried other litters over the years, but always come back to the catsan.   Great for a five kitty household!   I buy it in 20 litre bags at costco  (10 at a time!)   When I get strange looks I tell people I run a rescue centre and they soon look away!

I like Arm and Hamers with baking soda clumping cat litter.  It allows little smell and cleans up easly.

I recently tried Papur's scoopable litter.  The cats love it, but I am not so sure yet if I like it.  It isn't dusty and it doesn't seem to track easily, but I am not so sure that it keeps odor down.  I will continue to have it in one box for a while to see if I like it.

We use Feline Fresh scoopable. It is a pine litter, and is not dusty at all. It does track a bit, but not as bad as clay. It also keeps the odour down very well!. I have a male with veryt strong urine, and there is practically no odour from the box. It is also very cost efficient. A large bag costs abouty $15 canadian, but lasts us a month with 6 cats.

The best litter I have tried to date, and definitly the cheapest. They also offer a buy 10 bags get one free if you save the proof of purchases.

edit-
I forgot to mention that it is also flushable!  :paw:

I really like using Worlds Best Cat Litter as much as possible. I say that because it is somewhat expensive and the price just went up again at my local PetSmart. WBCL is great for odor control in whole males and it is environmentally safe unlike clumping clay litters. I also use it with all mommas and kittens. It doesn't stick to the bottom of their paws as bad as clays do and if some does get stuck to their paws and they ingest it trying to clean it off, the litter is made of corn and will go right through their digestive systems- unlike clays, which have been known to cause deadly blockages...I really hate the thought of scooping up sticky clay and having my priceless show cats dig around in something dirty.
WBCL has a nice breeder/pet program to save you money:
http://www.worldsbestcatlitter.com/Rewards/default.aspx
Just clip 9 UPC codes from the bags you buy and get coupons from the company. Every little bit helps. For breeders, they have a seperate program- check it out!
