One recommendation that I always make to new breeders is to learn how to tube feed newborns. I know a lot of people are intimidated by it because if you screw it up, you can kill the kitten, but I can't tell you how many lives I've saved by doing this procedure. Many newborns don't have a good sucking reflex and you can drown them by trying to feed them milk with a syringe, and that is why tube feeding comes in handy. All new breeders should invest the $50 fee to join PandEcats if only to read the information on newborns and birthing techniques!
