Many of our members have great tips for our fur-kittys and thought that it would be great if you could share some of those wonderful tips; it will certainly be very helpful to all members..... :up:  :flower:  :paw:

Relaxing a kitty immediately after bathing and right before blow drying ...

Comfortably but snuggly swaddle (wrap*) kitty from neck down into a cozy towel and hold him/her in your arms that way for a few minutes.  Helps to relax them, remove some moisture, and also prevents scratching.  Then, after a few minutes unwrap towel, comb, and blowdry.

I learned this from my breeder and, for Tosca, it works.

Well with the summer fun also can come the dreaded fleas!  My kitties  have always been  house cats and many years ago, I had a bad infestation of fleas. I actually got them from my vet's office.

I bombed my house and used FrontLine on my kitties and read on the internet something that amazed me. Take a shallow white plate and fill it with water and several drops of Dawn detergent. Place it on the floor and put a bright lamp next to the plate. Do this at night and in the morning you can not imagine all of the fleas in the water. Fleas are attracted to anything white. Including my white nurse 's uniform pants. I will never forget the bites on my legs either.
