As a teen I had a little black DLH kitten named, 'Stormbringer', after a smart alecky sword in fantasy fiction.  She knew what shadows were for, too!  She'd love to hide on top of dad's rolltop desk, then *BOING!* she'd take a flying leap, and land on your chest, claws and all, expecting you to catch her, lol.  She did this many, many times to dad, all of us.  She'd also stalk bread at midnight, toss it onto the floor, and wrestle it to pieces!

Stormbringer is the name of  the infamous black sword that, er, is the "Eater of Souls" from Elric of Melnibone series, by Michael Moorcock.

Here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stormbringer

The running joke around me, is that all black cats, "Eat your soul",

I think they are really teasing me.

Wow I never heard for those books but they sound right up my alley.
I will have to check them out.
Smokey would be the sword of snobbiness that steals your self esteem & makes you feel unworthy

 Becki...I have somewhat blew Romeo's personality out of proportion.
He really is the comedian of the household.  The Pysco part comes into play because he is afraid of my husband for no good reason. :?

Hubby does feel badly because Romeo happened to be his mother's favorite.  She just loved him and never stopped talking about him.  And she just passed on recently. So Romeo became a close to connection to her because of this.

He is my mom's favorite too! Smiley   When I was caring for her in my home, he would awake her up in the middle of the night by playing with her hair.
He does this to me too...and it tickles!   So I would wake up thinking that she had a problem only to find out she was in a fit of laughter.

He has a thing for ladies hair.  Must be the latin side of him coming out.

Midnight is a rescue cat. He's a water lover, maybe that comes from his part Norwegian Forest side because I have a Norwegian Forest purebreed named Molly that LOVED the water. He, like she, will join you in the shower, jump in the sink. He's got a pretty dominant personality, but has since got his status taken from him by my old man, Brandy. Brandy wasn't having a youngster rule him   so he pounces him daily. Midnight is not a lover of dogs and terrorizes my mother-in-law's dog every chance he gets. He loves to lay in the window on his perch and he seems to have chosen me as his favorite human. He's very cuddly with me and very affectionate. I'm the only one whose lap he'll lay on. He's pretty spunky. Here's a picture of my Molly in the tub. She had passed last February.

Sweet Molly in the tub, I'm sorry she is gone but very glad you have Midnight & Brandy to comfort you.

Nique sounds a lot like my Smokey Cheesy

Poor Romeo got labled as Psyco kitty when he is really the king of comedy Cheesy
I hope he leaves his claws in when he plays with your hair

Becki, Romeo uses his nose to sniff and then starts licking, snorting, etc.  Drives me nuts because he tickles.   I need to pull my sheet over my head if it is too early to get up.

LOL thank goodness no claws.
Legolas use to do that when he was a kitten that does tickle!!!!
Robbie doesn't let him in the bedroom so I'm not sure if he would do that now or not.

Smokey & Eowyn however are allowed in the bedroom & the bed but nither one are head sniffers

One of the funniest things Purrvette ever did, was with my Rottweiler rescue.   I was trying to determine if she liked cats, and well, Purrvette and Isis were ones who didn't take guff from dogs or wolves, but wouldn't risk their lives, either.

I initially was concerned, because I saw the dog tear down the hall after her, didn't know how sweet she was yet.  I heard this, "Meowr, ror, meowr!" some foot scraping...next thing I see, is this big ol' 100 lb Rott bouncing down the hallway, tongue hanging out of her mouth, with Purrvette in hot pursuit!!

Oh, that was priceless!  I must draw that, or paint it, or something!

Stormbringer used to sleep on top of my dad's German Shepherd/Black Lab in the back yard all the time, just like in the cartoons!

Come to think of it, all my black cats played with dogs,
