Hi there,

How is every one doing?  We are having terrible storms here in Florida, a lot of rain, thank goodness, but the thunder and lightning is bad   Our garden is looking beautiful, all the hibiscus and Gardenias are in full bloom and my containerplants on the patio is also full of flowers, so pretty :!: Oh, boy, it is hot and humid     :!:

Kim turned the AC way down, I have to wear a sweater indoors, hot flushes and all     but the Persians are loving it :!: They all have so much energy and the most interesting thing is, they have full, fluffy coats....winter coats, even the ones we got with lioncuts, it is great to see how fast they are becoming Persians again, I can not believe how quickly their furr is growing. Linda, that made me think of you and Sherman, how is his coat doing :?:  I am sure he will be his gorgeous self soon Smiley

We hope and pray there will be no hurricanes this year, but to be on the safe side, we invested in a generator, you never know and I will not risk being without electricity. We were lucky that when Wilma hit us in 2005, and we were without power for two weeks, that it was cool weather, but, rather safe than sorry.

Huggs Mari.

Cheesy  Cheesy Hello,

I am so happy I bribed my hubby to get us Home internet because I was on the brink of being fired for surfing the Persian web site!

Now I can sit in bed next to my snoring husband and type to my heart's content.

The babies are lying on my feet having a snoring competition with Otto!

Nique is currently on nose drops from the Vet to try and get her nose unblocked - does not sound if there is any progress...

It is very cold and very winter here by us - last year this time we had our first snow in 13 years - but so far no luck. Can't wait for Summer so I can send these two hair balls for there lion cuts! I have a lint roller in my car and one in my office - never ending battle with a black work suit.

I always read all the Post's but don't always have the time to reply. Some of the members is very quiet at the moment and one always wonder what happened to them - dont you?

Porky Pie (Pablo) hates me because I barely let him into the garden but because it is so dry at the moment he is always rolling in the dirt and comes back BROWN.

Oh! And generator's is a survival tool here by us, because of failure to maintain and upkeep some of the best power stations in the world we know have power shedding schedules. (yes, we have power cuts - lots of them!) :meow:

 Aletta, you only have three and a husband snoring.. you lucky Girl          Please visit me and you will count your blessings

May I give you a tip on Nique's blocked nose.. :? ... I also tried the drops from the vet on Christina and Stardust... did'nt work...  :? Hon.. I was so desperate, I remembered what my Ouma did when we had stuffy noses and bought some   Vicks :!: ( for babies) It works :!: I use a itty bitty touch on my pinkie and tubb it under the nosie and massage the bridge of the little nose, believe me, it works. I have Christina batting at the pot of Vicks ( it's got a permanent home on the coffee table,) when she feels stuffy. She knows it works.  Smiley

Wessel, my son sent me pics of all the snow last year, amazing. The only snow I ever saw was on the  Du Toit's Kloof and Hottentots Holland mountain tops. I hope it is not going to be that cold again this year

I can not wait to see how my lioncut kids look once the fur grows out :!: I  am not a lioncut person, sorry Aletta, I loooooove the full Persian coats, and I never have problems , probably because I am always brushing and combing, brushes and combs also live on the coffee table

Pablo, Porkie guy, only brown, yippeee, that means you don't have 'rooi grond' because that is nearly impossible to get out. It stains any and every thing red

Talking about the lint rollers, I was in Walgreens, similar store to Clicks, and this guy was standing behind me in line, so he said to me.... 'and how many Persians do you have'  welllll.... I nearly keeled over and asked.. how did you know I have Persians, he said..' I recognize the furr, I have four"Oh my goodness, did we have fun talking about our FurrBabies  Afcourse, out came the pics, he has two Whites and two Silvers, also extreme faces, needless to say, he is my buddy now, and he is only 26 years old. He got his first white Persian when he was 15 and still has her Cheesy Isn't that wonderfull :?:

I do know about all the problems you have with electricity, Wessel, told me about it, it sucks :!:  Unfortunately there are still bigger problems  We realy only need a generater, God Forbid, we get hit by a hurricane again. I have been in Florida for eight years and only lived through one major storm, Wilma, we got a direct hit and that was not fun  I need AC and a fridge, because I need meat for Sammy and Christina, they are on a raw diet, so imagine I am without power.

Aletta, don't worry about the members that are quiet, they are probably just busy, you know how it is. I have been on this board for a while and trust me, the friends will post soon. Remember one thing, we all love our Persians so very much and there is a bond and friendships that were formed over a long time, and that is not easy to break.  Non of us enjoy unpleasantness, we come here to escape from it, so if not nice things happen, it is understandable that people will be reserved. Just give it
time Smiley

Ja Juffrou, enjoy sitting in bed and typing.... with your snorers  I am so glad you have internet at home now...yoohoooo :!:

Cheesy Hi,

I was so disgusted last night - all ready to go and "no Network".

Now I am sitting at work quickly typing before the rest of the world arrives!

Thanks for the tip for Nique's nose - you were right the drops are not working, just waiting for my off day Monday to go and look for the Vicks.

Last year our whole garden was covered in snow in the middle of good old Johannesburg - very weird!

And talking about "Rooi Grond" it is exactly what Pablo was covered in and had to rushed to the Groomer for an good old bath and blow dry. And guess who was the culprit who let him run around for more than two hours? My dear old husband - according to him a BOY is not supposed to be cooped up inside!

Definately he is not the cleaner and the feeder in our house?

It must have been nice to find a fellow Persian lover in the most unlikely place and just to be picked out by the fur on your clothes? Ha! Ha!

All my Persian loving friends is scattered all over the country and everyone else work collegues and family thinks I am mad.

If I don't get lion cuts for the furry ones in Summer they are permamently lying around like "Beached Whales". And believe me if Nique had a choice she would be "nekked" like Joan's Dolly permanently!

Dolly has the most adorable body under all that fur - same as Pablo with his pork belly.

Enjoy your summer and good luck with the tornadoes.I hope everthing works out with your fridge and AC problems. Please keep us up to date!

Hi! Sherman's coat is a little better. Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy   He had a lot of knots because of the heat he did not want to be bothered and also he started loosing a lot of his fur.  Thank Goodness he has a lot of baby fur growing where he lost his fur.  So hopefully it will be long soon.  The only thing is that I dont know what to do with is  his tail.  It has some gummy issues to it that makes it look matted.  Any advice anyone.  Linda

Cheesy Hi Linda.

I wish I had some advise with Sherman's fur but because we give the babies lion cuts in the Summer I have no idea how to deal with the tail problem.

Pablo and Nique get badly knotted from sweating in the Summer months. And if they are not really fond of constant grooming they feel much better after a good shave - get's rid of dry hair etc.

I hope somebody has some good tips for Sherman.

Give him a hug! :flower:

We are all well here in PEI, it's been a wonderful
summer so far, lots of nice hot weather, 26C
or thereabouts.

Our pets are enjoying the sunshine (we have
a nice big sunroom) and Cabot of course
enjoys chasing the ball through the grass
rather than the snow.

Our Vanna is continuing to improve,
she is letting me groom her more and
her hot spot is gone, for that we are
both really thankful

After reading your posts Aletta and Mari, about
SA, a place I've always wished to visit, I am truly
grateful that I live in such a wonderful place as
Canada.
