Hi Girls,

Oh my, The Old Guy is not doing very well!  Sad  He has, for the last two days, barely been moving. He just lays on the couch and I bring his food to him and he only jumps off when he needs the LitterMaid!

He is not loosing weight and he was checked by the vet, nothing wrong, but he seems to be even older than we originally thought, not 10 or 11, more like 16-17 years.I have no idea how the Docs can tell this but apparently, teeth and bone structure tells the story,I mean, we all know THAT. He Purrrrrrrrrrrs all the time, and as y'all know, it can also mean distress, but nothing is hurting! I think he is just feeling safe and happy, lounging around, being loved and cared for! Smiley And he loves the fact that he does not have to go far for water or to peepee. His leggs are very stiff and wobbly..... arthritis! Poor little Guy! It is hard for him to walk Sad

I am sorry to hear that.  I know you don't want to know this... But he may be preparing to die.   That is how Butter acted right before I had him put down.  He purred all the time, too.  I hope he gets better, though.

Oh Brandy,
Hon, you said what I was thinking! You are right! I know, but it will hurt when he cross over. At least, again, I know, his last days were happy, secure and he was very, very, loved :!:
Did you find the other Persians avoiding Butter before he passed? I am having that now, it is as if no one comes close to him and there is no running and jumping!  There is always somebody playing or chasing a toy or just being busy, but all the kids are very subdued for now!

What do you think?

Yeah... I did notice that.     I kept them separated.  But I noticed that they were not going by the door anymore to sniff and meow at it.  In fact, they seemed to avoid it at all costs.... It's like they knew he didn't have long... Had said their goodbyes and were done with it.

Brandy,

I think that is happening here. I just picked him up and he is sitting on my lap, normally I have a brigade round me, but it is only the two of us at the computor. Lucky Charm is on his coach with his head under a pillow :!:

I do not want my OLD Guy, Sir Lancelot to leave just yet! I need to spend more time with him! You know, Jazzy was the first, adult, Persian I lost since 1994, when my Odd eyed Presious passed!

I am so sorry Mari!!  I know how it feels to loose one right after another.  It's happened to me on two occasions now and it hurts so bad.  Take joy in him now.  Give him lots of love... Enough to lasts a lifetime... That way, when he does cross over he'll be purring because he was so happy at least in the end!!

God bless you for what you do... I don't know if I could stand such sad little lives and making them better again without it breaking my heart.  It takes someone special to do that.

Dear Brandy,

It nearly kills me, every time I receive a broken, sick, mistreated Persian. It takes time and lots of love to get then to be the Beautifull Persians they are, I can take them to a point, and they are happy living with me, but then comes adoption, and we start again, not as bad as when I got them, but they still need SPECIAL people, people, like Vanessa and Geoff and my beautifull Katie.  Devoted, loving, caring and understanding people! They go the extra mile, nothing will stop them.

I keep the sick and old Persians, I have to go through the pain of loosing them, but, at least, I have not passed that pain onto a Persian lover, who adopted a companion, only to loose them after a short time! That is cruel and terrible! I have a problem with the rescue group, they do not share my code of conduct! Tough! I am not a sheister,I love and respect the Persian Breed far too much, to ever sinc to those levels!

Ooooh dear, there I go again! Sorry!
I am gratefull that God allows me to take care of these little ones, HE trust me with them, that is the biggest reward ever!

:pink: Mari,

I can only admire you for the wonderful work you do for these little angels in fur coats.

It just make me so sad and mad to know there is so many "humans" who just don't understand the priviledge of living and sharing with these innocent little souls.:flower:

We wish you blessings and strength....

Mari, sending you big hugs, what a difficult
path you are on.  I know that all of your resuces
will appreciate that even in their golden
years they were loved and had the very
best of care.

Oh my gosh! I hope is ok.  It is so unpredictable around that age.  I wish him well and say a prayer that he feels better.
