Brie passed away peacefully in my arms at 9am this morning. She looked at me each time i called her name and when i asked her to hang on a little while more on the way to the hospital. I knew she wouldn't have made it to the hospital but at times like this i believe we tend to be in denial and try to convince ourselves that a miracle might happen even though we know it is far from possible. You will forever be missed. God knows how heartbroken i am.

Rest in peace my little girl.

Dear Aznie,
I am so sorry for your loss.  They take a little piece of our hearts with them
when they leave us.  I am sure that Brie was right where she wanted to be,
safe and loved in her mamma's arms.

Sending my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved kitty.

Oh Aznie, my tears join your tears... there is a beautiful little Angel at the Bridge.. and she is pain free and chasing sunbeams and watching over her Mother... and I just bet there is a little child there who needs a baby kitty to cuddle...

I am so sorry, I know there are no words, but, I so wish I could find some to ease your heart.

big hugs,
j

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Aznie. At least Brie's last moment was spent in her mama's loving arms. May she rest in peace and fly high with the angels. All my condolences to you.

I know Brie passed with a smile on her face.  The greatest gift any of us can give either human or animal - is the most difficult thing for us to do: let our loved ones passed away in our arms.

It's painful, difficult - but one of the bravest things we can do, is be there for them, as they complete their journey here, and move onto their next one.

My father...19 years ago this month, slipped away in my arms.  I did everything medically possible for him, until there was nothing left to do; he was considered at 72, to be too old for a heart transplant.

When I went to the private viewing before the fanciest funeral ever seen in our family ever had, I asked the Funeral Director, it was remarkable how he got him to smile; he shook his head no with a smile.  He hugged me, and said, "You made him smile, you know.  No way could we do that, it's impossible.  He died happy."

Consider that a gift from me, the knowledge that Brie only felt comfort and love in your arms.

Purrs & hugs,

Julie

I am so sad to hear of your loss. Brie looked like such a sweet little angel here on earth and she will remain your angel soaring high above you stopping every now and then to rest peacefully on your shoulder

Thanx for all the support guys. I needed that to go on. I've had enough of insensitive people telling me, "She was just a cat anyway, no need to get so emotional about it" Arghhhh it makes me sick when i hear that from ppl who have no sense of compassion. They may think of our babies as just pets but to us, our babies are family.

We believe she was suffering from Coccidia. She had all the symptoms.
We couldnt get a diagnosis yesterday during her review but doc said the symptoms she had matched exactly like coccidia.

'Coccidia'

Prevalent among kittens is a pesky protozoa known as coccidia. These one-celled organisms multiply rapidly in the intestinal tract especially in young kittens (under 6 months old).

Kittens with lowered immune systems become especially vulnerable to this parasite. The high load of coccidia clusters together, attacking the lining of the kitten?s intestine.

Other symptoms of coccidia are rough coat, bloody diarrhea, weight gain or weight loss. Fever is rare with this infection. Untreated, coccidia can quickly take a young kitten?s life depending on the severity of infestation.

I'm so sorry. I know it can't give too much comfort to know what happened, but at least hopefully it gave you some closure.  Again I'm so sorry. Purrs and prayers for you and your family and I agree that they are family members, not just a cat. You have my sympathies.

I'm so sorry you lost your beloved little Brie.  What a very gorgeous little girl she was. It's very hard to lose a furbaby ... and, yes, they definitely are family members (although some people just don't "get" that).  I'm sorry for your loss ...

RIP Brie.
