Reading Cat Body Language

Tail Up

A Persian Cat Case Study

Cats are very communicative with body language and sounds. They are often stereotyped as being distant and uncommunicative because of their solitary nature and independence. I doubt the cats who live in the wild communicate the same as our domesticated cats. It is my opinion; the domesticated cat probably learns how to communicate with body language and sounds from their human companions and other companion animals.

Persian Cats

The Persian Cat is one of the oldest breeds of cat. In Britain, it is called the Longhair or Persian Longhair. A Persian without an established and registered pedigree is classed as a domestic longhair cat.

Persian Cat Origin

As their name suggests, Persians originate from Persia, now known as Iran, in the Middle East. The Persian cat is one of the most popular breeds in the world, and one of the oldest.

Seven Persian Divisions

The following are the seven groups of the Persian class recognized by the Cat Fanciers' Association.

Solid Color:
White, Black, Blue, Cream, Red, Peke-Face Red, Chocolate, Lilac

Silver and Golden:

Chewing Disorders in Cats

There are cats, which are universally characterized as finicky eaters, who orally obsess upon objects such as fabric, string and plastic. They can proceed to suck, chew or ingest these materials as well.
