Cat Vaccination Schedule

Syringe

You have just brought home your new kitten and now you must take care of her health which includes knowing when to get your cat vaccinated with the proper vaccines. You will also need to know your local and state laws governing your pet's health. Generally, your state and local community require that certain shots should be given to your cat and at what intervals. Your veterinarian should know what these are and when they are to be administered.

Diagnosing Cataracts As Part Of Your Cat Eye Care Program

Persian Eye

A solid cat eye care program includes understanding the impact of some cat eye disorders on your cat's eyesight. Cataract problems are relatively rare in cats and are usually related to complications from diabetes. Some breeds inherit a tendency for developing cataracts: Birmans, Himalayans, Persians and British Shorthairs. The incidence is low and the cataract tends to remain small, often small enough to be ignored.

Before You Breed a Persian

Yellow Light

Spring is in the air, daylight hours are getting longer, and our girl cats are coming into heat...

"Hmm..maybe just ONE litter of kittens would be fun."
"We should have just ONE litter for the kids."
"I want to breed her so i can have kittens just like her."
"I just want ONE litter to make back the money i spent on buying her."
"Well, she's a purebred, papered Persian - why NOT breed her?"

Eye Problems In Cats

Persian Eye

The most common disorder in cats is runny eyes. Infectious organisms such as the flu viruses or chlamydia cause conjunctivitis, an inflammation of the membranes lining the eyelids. This results in a discharge which is either watery and runny or thick and a greenish yellow color.

Occasionally a runny eye is caused by a disorder of the normal anatomy.
