We have had severe storms and tornados all over Kansas today. Right now we are in a tornado warning, w/ a large tornado spotted south of us -- and with nightfall, it is much more difficult to see anything happening. I hope and pray we don't end up rounding up the cat's and spending the night in the basement.

Oh we're still ok. We live east of a community college (out in the country) and when they start blowing their sirens, then we head to the basement. They are talking about a bad one moving into Wichita -- hate to see damage down there.

I read in the paper this morning that the weathermen forcasted yesterday that today would be a bad tornado day. The paper had a picture of tornado damage in Norman not far from the tornado center there. My folks live in NE Oklahoma so tornados are always a concern. Dad called earlier this evening while I was taking trash out and left a message that no severe weatehr so far. I've been trying to call him all night but he can't hear the phone ring anymore.

We got off pretty lightly with only hail and strong winds. Woodward is west of us and got hit very badly, five people were killed including two children. There is a lot of damage there. I really do not like tornado season.

I had to check first thing this morning to see if everyone is ok. I think we have others in the storm path, I hope everyone is ok. Isn't Heather in Indiana, I may be wrong. Please stay safe.

We are ok here in the central part of Kansas -- some damage in Salina, which is about an hour east of us. Wichita was hit and there is some damage to Spirit Aerosystems, and also one trailerpark community was wiped out. I didn't hear of any deaths or major injuries. Hubby said that someone on TV said there were 97 tornadoes in Kansas yesterday. :shock:
