Yesterday Duncan was at my bedroom window and we saw a toad, the first of the year. It was raining and too wet for the Light Orange Boy to go and hunt. Today I saw another, heading across my garden to the usual fern home of toads. It looks a perfect toad day, not too cold and wet enough to deter any patting from Persians.

I think the toads have spring feelings now that the freezing is over. Good that your garden provides shelter for them and for the orange man something to play with

Wow! From what I hear from our neighbor today when we called back home, there are no toads hopping around in Bathurst, and won't be for a while yet.
Apparently, there is as much snow in the yard now as when we left at the end of january

All Canada sympathizes with the Maritimers! Spring is slowly creeping across the country, though. There were double digits in Winterpeg today. No toads in our yards here in Montreal yet, but I see some grass here and there. Bogey was sniffing the fresh air today when I opened the kitchen window a crack. He also reported seeing a toad on snowshoes.
