Here's a question: what is grey, red, and yellow, and makes two adults cry?

Give up? Maggie playing with a ball!!!

When I got home from work, Maggie was a bit hyper and started bopping people. As she lunged at Spencer, she kicked a plastic bottle cap and stopped. Actually, she almost fell over because she stopped so suddenly. :DShe batted at the cap. Then she pounced on a dark square on the linoleum.

I quickly ran and got a ball -- one of the brightly colored, hard foam ball -- and rolled it at her. Swat! Swat! Chase a little and then Swat! She proceded to swat that ball up and down the hallway for 15 minutes. She occassionally had trouble seeing it if it got too far away or to her right side, but most of the time she would hunt for it until she found it. Then Swat! Off she would go in a different direction.

Hubby and I stood there watching her -- both of us getting all choked up. I honestly didn't know if we would ever see her play. Heck, 6-8 weeks ago, I didn't know if she would really live! And now she's playing. She has come such a long way from that fuzzy bag of bones I brought home.

Maggie is continuing to play like a maniac! Today, she discovered mylar-crinkle ball. Yeehaw! :lol:It's light enough she carries it around until she finds just the right place to drop it and begin swatting it. Also, it goes well, but not too far, so she can easily find it. She was so wrapped up in chasing it, she pushed under Spencer who was standing and watching!!! He looked at me, "Did she just go under me?!"

For a 6 year-old cat discribed as 'frail', she sure loves playing. I would love to video tape her, but unless I get a new phone with video, I don't have one. :(

On the downside, I thought the playing would curb the bopping, but not today. Once again, she went after everyone, but this time it was while I was off working. (Yah, I'm not the cause of her aggression!!!) I guess we just need to get better at reading her moods, at least until she has dealt with her anger issues. Anyone know a good kitty shrink???
