Heather!!!! I missed you too girl :-)

Yea, Boten's passing was hard on me. Honestly it was so hard that I didn't speak about it to anyone. Just didn't want to. It was so painful that it was as if I never wanted to acknowledge this event ever took place.

But it did take place... and I guess this hole in my heart would never be truly filled again. No matter how many beautiful babies I have. But that's just life I guess - our pets never live beyond our years, and it is a part of being a pet owner. :(

I am happy you liked the website. Yes, Cherry and Lilly are adorable! I can't wait to show Cherry next month - there are several shows planned for her. Lilly is busy being pregnant these days. Cross fingers all will go well.

I should really take new pictures of Triniti too - her baby pictures don't do her any justice.

Alon,
I browsed through your website last night and watched the channel10 video - O.M.G.!! All of your cats are SOOO beautiful! I absolutely  Calicos! Before I saw Persia at the PetExpo, I was keeping my eyes open for a calico to adopt but wasn't having much luck.

You have done a great job with your kitties! I sorta do wish there were papers for Persia so I could show her too. And to answer your question, yes she is spayed. That was just about the first thing they did when she was rescued!

Since I can't technically get her into shows, I will just keep my ears/eyes open for fun little city shows that they do for fun. I use to work for a city here in california called Westminster - They decided to do a fun show for anyone called "The LITTLE Westminster Dog Show" - This was when Darla (my peke) was 6-9m/o. I entered her in for the "cutest dog" and my mom entered her springer spaniel in for the "best owner/dog look a like" - Darla got 2nd place, after a 6 WEEK old dog (of course a baby is going to be the cutest! haha) and Max, my moms dog got 2nd in his category. It was super fun and they won all sorts of treats and toys. If there is something similar for cats, then I'll definitely get Persia into that. I think it would be so much fun (maybe more for me than her!).

I can't wait to see the future of your cats and their shows, etc.

Check your local cat shows. In Montreal and many other places, I am sure, there is a serious category for cats that have no papers but are definitely worth showing.

Love the improvements to your website, Alon. Your Persians are so beautiful -- wow! I was especially touched by your tribute to Boten. He reminds me a bit of my Humphrey, but sweeter. They do steal our hearts, don't they?

Amy, most of the shows have a "pet" category for unpapered cats. You should check that out.

Sorry for my late reply Amy.

Thank you so much for your words about my cats  my 'main male' Idol is imported from the US - he is incredible - made such a difference in my program.

Isn't the article from Channel 10 nice?! It was aired on Prime time here - so we became 'semi-famous' it was a whole lot of fun having it filmed too.

You can enter Persia to ANY CAT SHOW Amy :D even without papers. She would need to go to the House Hold Pet category where she would just compete for her beauty. Of course the judges would see she is Persian, but when these things happen they usually ask the owner for the story - and you will just say she was rescued. Judges at shows LOVE rescue stories, and it's rare that a rescue cat owner leaves empty handed... especially at TICA shows by they way. So I think you should try it. That of course if Persia would like the shows - some cats do stress too much - and then it's best to leave them at home.

Barbara - thank you so much for your warm words about Boten's memorial page. Boten passed over the rainbow bridge last year, and it broke my heart into a million pieces. I could not really speak to anyone about his death, and essentially refused to. it was, and still is too hard for me to discuss. His Memorial page was one of the only ways I could express my grief over him. He was my best friend for 13 years.

Anyway, we will be showing this weekend in the first CFA show in Israel ever! it is a historical event. I will be taking 2 cats - but sadly both are in summer coats - so my hopes for amazing results are low... but I will tell you guys how it went, and email pictures and videos.
