Tonight NBC had a report on "counterfeit" Frontline Plus which can have some very negative effects on our pets. These products are sold online and are packaged to look like the real thing for US residents. When I checked my most recent order, I saw that it fell under the counterfeit guidelines.

In a nutshell, every country has its own regulations for the safety of the product. The USA stamps the "good" stuff with an EPA number and it is made in France. The product I have was made in Australia and it is ILLEGAL to sell it in the United States. Also the manufacturer, Merial, states that there is a difference in regulations from country to country and what is good in one country might not be good in another country. Here is the link: http://www.merial.com/Products/Default.aspx.
