Smokey has a grooming appointment tomorrow morning bright and early at 7:30 am. Ugh. I'm trying out a new groomer for the first time. Snowy's groomer does a wonderful job with her, but they are not very good with Smokey's greasy fur. The new place is a lot closer to where I work, so that could save some driving. I'm thinking that if they can get the mats out and give him a good bath I should be able to do it myself going forward, as long as I actually do it every month instead of procrastinating. Maybe I should finally buy that Metro too.

Snowy sees her vet Wednesday for follow up lab work on her hyperthyroidism and kidney issues. I'm hoping for good results. She seems to be doing well but is still drinking quite a lot.

Wish us luck!

7:30???? that is awfully early to be taking a mad kitty to the groomer! ;)

I hope Snowy gets a good report at the vet. Fingers crossed for all of you.

Sending hugs to Snowy and you. You'll have to let us know how the new groomer does. If you want to try out my Metro before you buy one, Debby, you are more than welcome to! :flower:

I hope all goes well for both the kitties, it would
be very convenient to have a groomer closer to
you work.

Poor Snowy, she'll be glad to have the day
finished as well.

If you take smokey that early can you pick him up early or do you have to leave him all day ? I hope it works out for both of you, having anew groomer is always a stressor .

Let's hope Snowy gets a good report.

Smokey is at the groomers as we speak! He'll be ready for pickup in a couple of hours. This groomer is only 5 minutes away, not 30 minutes like Snowy's groomer so that means a lot less driving time. Also less time away from the office which means I won't have to stay as late tonight. They charge less too. I hope it all works out!

Good luck Debbie!!!!

I love what my groomer did with Wed Wed and Elvis last time... she began at their front arm pitts and shaved their tummy up to and around their bottom. But, looking at them you would never know. It is so easy to brush them as the back and side fur does not matt. They look wonderful and she said that Elvis was charming.. giggle

Smokey is back home! They gave him a sanitary clip and combed out enough fur to make another cat, lol. Looks like they did a good job. $40 instead of $55 like the other people charge, plus I didn't have to do two hours of driving - I'm happy!

They said he was very well behaved, but that's no surprise. I comb him out every day and he's had plenty of baths before. We'll see how they do with Snowy the next time she needs it. She is not nearly so cooperative.

It's a large, spacious shop. They have a bunch of bathing stations and a bunch of grooming tables. I wish I had facilities like that for when I bathe him! It must be so much easier. They do these early morning appointments for the kitties to get them done before all the dogs come in. When I picked him up they were busy working on five or six dogs. All were well-behaved and there was NO barking - I couldn't believe it!
