The new sitters are good. One of the things they do is leave notes on each day's visit. The notes from this most recent trip describe Snowy as a "purr monster" :)and say that she "loves to be loved". She's always been very social.

Smokey, on the other hand, was shy as usual. He spent most of her visits in hiding. She was writing the notes for the last day, saying that she wished she'd gotten to see him, when she looked up and there he was, sitting on the sofa next to her! He finally came around, the bugger. I guess after a few days he decided she was ok after all. Maybe next time she'll be able to visit with him more.

In spite of going for a few days without grooming (really only two days because I groomed him the morning I left) his fur was good with no matts. I combed him out last night and all was good. He's ready for another bath and degreasing though. I need to throw him in the tub this week, poor baby!

Sounds like a good report from the sitter. Good luck with Smokey's bath this week.

Glad all went well, I wish mine would come out and make friends. Our sitter leaves a daily log too. She reports Lani is the most skittish cat she has ever seen :oops:And Chicka finally warms up, after 3 days

It is so important to have someone to rely on when you are away, someone who loves your cats and keeps company aside of doing the food/box thing.

Glad your babies are well, makes it easier to leave when you know they are treated as they deserve.

:DIt's great when your cat sitter leaves you a note, even if it's not always something you don't want to hear. I always worry if nothing is said. :?
I cat sit a few times a year for a friend and I see them more than once a day and make sure I talk to them and pet them. It's not enough to just give food and take care of the box.
However, I don't think my Dakota cares if anyone talks with him so he's fine. Sparky however, love to rub up to them for attention.

Glad you came home to a happy house. :D

It's great to have someone dependable. My sitter sends us an e-mail every day and sometimes she even attaches a picture! (Of course it is always of Sam, because Sasha is under the bed.) She leaves a note at the end of the visit as well, but I have to have a daily confirmation that they are okay.

Glad that Snowy is sociable -- I'll be Smokey will come around next time ;)
