The new sitters are good. One of the things they do is leave notes on each day's visit. The notes from this most recent trip describe Snowy as a "purr monster"

and say that she "loves to be loved". She's always been very social.
Smokey, on the other hand, was shy as usual. He spent most of her visits in hiding. She was writing the notes for the last day, saying that she wished she'd gotten to see him, when she looked up and there he was, sitting on the sofa next to her! He finally came around, the bugger. I guess after a few days he decided she was ok after all. Maybe next time she'll be able to visit with him more.
In spite of going for a few days without grooming (really only two days because I groomed him the morning I left) his fur was good with no matts. I combed him out last night and all was good. He's ready for another bath and degreasing though. I need to throw him in the tub this week, poor baby!
