I was on my laptop a while ago, watching a utube video
someone sent me when all of a sudden, the computor just
shut off..deader than a door nail..
What's up with that?
No warning..it was plugged in so not battery .
I'm on this little 10" thing I have...
Oh gosh, hope I have not lost all my pictures..sigh..

I'll let it rest a bit, and give it a try later...
if not..it's off to the shop tomorrow I guess...

Silly question but have you tried plugging it in again and turning it on? Maybe it was not plugged in right or something? Otherwise that does not sound too good. How old is the laptop?

No, but I'm going to try that..but if it was running on battery, you think
I would have gotten a warning that it was low.
This little crappy thing always tells me when the battery is low..
It's about 2 years old I think..paid a grand for it...hate to have it die
now....

Oh..ya..maybe closer to 3...in December...I remember renewing the Norten twice

Well, we seem to be back in business :D
I let it rest a bit, then checked the plugs, but all seemed
ok, but I still uplugged it both from the power serger thingy on the wall and from the computer
and all seems ok now...

They will do that sometimes if they get hot...make sure nothing is blocking the fan. Never leave it on a surface such as couch, chair or bed...the fan cannot do its job. It could over heat and make it crash....and then you probably would loose all data including pics.

Yes, an HP ProBook 4510s
It's never given me any problems...I have a feeling
the cord was not plugged in all the way...Don pushes it way back
on the desk when he is using it, then I pull it forward for typing...I may
have pulled the cord loose...

Because laptop are small and compact they don't have the same cooling advantages as the towers do. It's 2 years old so blowing out the fan with canned air will help improve air flow. I got these milk crate things and the external fans you can sit your Laptop on to keep things cooler too.

Good Luck!
