How many times have I heard that and never thought anything about it. Two nights ago Miss Sparky taught me where the saying came from

No she is not dead but she sure could've been

We built a frame that fits under the bed out of wood that matches the bed rails, it fits inside the bed all the way around so the girls can't get under there. We did it when we went on vacation so the sitter could take care of them, once they get under that bed you can't get them out which would be a problem. There is a verrry narrow space at the head of the bed that goes down to the floor, maybe 3 inches wide. She can't get under the bed there either so there is no where to go. That is Jim's bed and he is in Lake Powell. Two nights ago in the middlle of the night I hear a horrible scratching sound, Sparky is down there wedged between the wall and the bed and apparently has been there since I went to bed, 3 hours, trying to claw her way out

She was breathing hard and very stressed, I reached down and was able to grab her and pull her out, it was tight. Lani was up pacing around looking wild eyed. Sparky is still not back to normal, she looks okay, is eating okay but just doesn't open her big eyes all the way, she just looks miserable. If I had not woke up the poor girl would be in worse shape, she was hanging by the front claws, they must've got stuck in the mattress when she tryed to climb out. I am stuffing that area or somethng so that doesn't happen again. Lani knew something was wrong, she was quite frantic. I have checked Sparky out and I think she is fine, she is just way stressed, poor little girl.
