  Linda, you crack me up. I know that the "old" saying was dry is better for cats...but that was from years ago...my mother still believes it and I will never change her mind. I know for a fact that feeding wet food is especially good for cats that have problems with uti's. We had one once..she always had problems and was on antibiotics and then I started giving her wet food with a little extra water added to it twice a day and we never had another uti again. She was part persian....Her name was JuJu....my daughter brought her home and hid her from me for about a week until I found her....then it was love from then on. That is just my 2 cents worth for the night.

Mine eat only dry. It's their choice. I nearly starved them trying to change their food and now leave it up to them. Even Tabitha has been turning her nose up at the wet food!

Linda you sound like me! I get so worked up over diet but my reasons, as I have stated before, are MUCH different than someone with companion furries so I reserve my right to be annal...LOL

Seriously tho, even a poor quality wet food is better than most high quality dry diets. My cats eat dry -- and I wont stop. I wish I could but like Joan said, it is convenience. I work a full time job and run a cattery at home plus have the same "house chores" as anyone else although my hubby thinks I am off my rocker about cleanliness...LOL I try to feed wet food EVERY evening but I admit, sometimes I don't. I'm either too tired/lazy or we are out. 90% of the time the cats get wet food in the evening. I am trying to wean my guys over to only Weruva but gotta tell ya it is a uphill battle. Some are totally on board and others refuse to eat if I don't have the raw mixed in. Odly tho...some have also banned the raw all together and want only the Weruva. Now if I could get everyone over to my way of thinking...LOL

In your case...I would try a higher quality canned without it being too expensive...Wellness is a right in the middle priced food and good quality...even Natural Balance makes a canned food that is great. Focus on grain free. And yes, by all means mix it in with the dry. But remember you need to allow at least 10 days for the transition...after that if you still have an issue then maybe it is like Dolly and Bumper and you need to avoid the wet food. You can also mix a little pumpkin in to help firm up the stool too.

And if you want you can check the pricing on www.petflow.com vs your pet store cause this might save you some money as well. Just some thoughts.

I would give my spot in heaven, or below, whichever it may be :? to get mine off the dry and onto just canned. But alas, they are having none of it  Canned is better for them, you have already heard the reasons.. You said you got them some treats, forget the treats and see if things get better.

A quality canned, such as wellness, or some of the others mentioned are less likely to upset her. But no matter what kind go very slow. Mine eat both, but sometimes, like right now when I seriously need lani to eat canned, she won't. There are any number of things that could cause the runs, the soupier canned food is more apt to than a pate, anything with gravy is not tolerable to many cats.

Good luck but I would personally try to change to a quality canned food.
