Hi Everyone!

I don't know if this post will get deleted or if I will get a warning haha but I couldn't find ANY exotic shorthair forums so I decided to post on this forum since Exotics technically CAME from Persian cats and exotic shorthairs have all the traits of persians except for the long fur lol

I live in Los Angeles and about 3 weeks ago, I put a deposit on a Red/White Van Exotic Shorthair Kitten from www.belcherpurrs.com in Florida. She is an excellent, show quality, CFA registered breeder and I'm lucky I found her. My kitten was born on August 2nd so he will be arriving here around October 22nd, at 11 1/2 weeks of age. I will have 4 days of that weekend so I'm excited to spend quality time with the kitten.

He has the most beautiful face with really dense plush coat.

I've been driving myself crazy and can't stop thinking about the kitten, what to feed it, what litter to use, where to place the cat tree, and etc... I think everyone at my work thinks I'm CRAZY. but i can't help myself!!!

I plan to get him a LOT of toys asI work full-time but I work 4 days a week so I'll give him a lot of quality time during my 3 days off.

He is being shipped from Florida to LA so I'm kinda concerned about that but my breeder said it should be easy for the kitten as she's done it a lot of times! This wait is ABSOLUTELY KILLING ME. I have exactly 3.5 weeks to go and I've been counting EVERY SINGLE SECOND OFF.

Any input or advice about waiting for a kitten after putting a deposit down and helping him (I decided to name him Juno for now) adjust well in my new home and helping me calm my nerves in regards to shipping would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!!!

How exciting for you! I know how you feel about counting the days I was like that with my kitten! And yes I was driving everyone crazy! I was known as the crazy cat lady......before I got willow! There are some great toys that will entertain your kitty but to he honest your kitty will sleep when you are at work haha! The ball tracker is a good toy that willow will play by herself for hours so maybe buy one of these :).

One of the rules here is.....YOU MUST SHOW PICTURES OF YOUR BABY :)

Lots of people on this group have exotic kitties just think how lucky you are that you won't need to groom as much :)

Oh and welcome :) I'm Zoe and my baby is Willow xx

How wonderful for you. I am new here myself with a 13 week old Persian...your baby will keep you busy but then all babies are that way.

If you will be working, who will be caring for your new one? Any chance you could include a litter mate or perhaps rescue a kitty locally near the same age? It would be good for your new one to have company, especially as it is so young.

How exciting for you. The time will go really fast until your baby is with you. We can't wait to hear stories and see pictures of your new baby.
