I thought I would share some pictures I took of Gabby at the CFA cat show in Moore, OK this weekend. The show was small, but we had a good time, chatting with freinds- and seeing fellow PC.com member Susan, who was there with her Himi Premier and pretty Tortie Open. Since the hall didn't have a PA system, we all had to pay attention to the rings alot more and were constantly looking for our numbers. I'm glad I only had one cat! Gabby did very well and was called back to 4 of the 6 finals. He made two 2nd Best Long Haired Premier placements and two Best All Breed Premier/Best LH PR placements!

It was fun wan't it, it was good to see you again. With 3 cats in different classes it was definitly interesting with no pa system, kept me on my toes. I was glad I had Tammy to help me. Both she and Cassie had a blast with Rosie my blue-cream lynx point kitten. She made one final and got 6th best kitten, it was her 1st show so I was happy. Cassie was so funny trying to get her out of the cage in the ring, she is short so she almost had to climb in to reach Rosie.

Barrel, my very in heat tortie got her winner's ribbons. She did manage to behave herself though.

Show cats are very lucky in some ways. If they enjoy "the road", they get to enjoy a life filled with much more variety and novelty than the average indoor pet.

I guess there has to be a marriage of
1- excellent type
2- a temperament bold enough to enjoy strange places
3- an upbringing designed to expose them at a young age to hustle & bustle
4- an owner willing to do all the hard work to show them!!
