Thank you! Gracie is going to be the death of me. New moms are so tough!!! She cried all night long, and is being difficult laying with the babies. She did awesome yesterday but decided last night she had had enough. :evil:I had to bottle feed them this morning and will again during the day. I hope she catches on quick and settles down.

Now wasn't Gracie the one that was pregnant earlier this year and sadly, she lost her only baby?? :(If I remember correctly, I'm thinking she was due around the same time as one of my girls.

Anyway, I hope she settles down for you soon and is a good 1st time mom to her little ones. :)

Yes, Tracy. H. this is the same girl. She and her mother were due around the same time, but Gracie's baby died at birth. It was stuck and died once she delivered it. A breeder that I know, who has been breeding for many many years, said to breed her again right away if she was in good condition. I guess so she wouldn't forget what it was like to deliver? Not sure but I trust her. I did and she had the two babies. One died 2 days later because she wouldn't lay with them to nurse. Now, I am hand raising the last baby for the same reason. Today, Gracie is in heat. I have her with her baby because she cleans that baby like you wouldn't believe. That baby has to be the cleanest kitten on the planet. Once it can do without her, I will let her out and I will continue to feed the baby. :roll:What a mess! Not sure what to do about Gracie. I'm not sure that I want to ever breed her again. I worry that she just isn't "Mom" material. I will really need to give it some thought.

I hope Gracie settles down and twigs on how to be a mom. I had one girl that was everywhere but with the kittens and I put her in a small cage for a couple of days so she pretty much has nothing else to do and she then stayed with the baby so it could nurse. I have found that if you have to hand feed they tend to do better if the mom washes them and looks after them otherwise, I've not had much luck at all with the mom's that have nothing to do with them.

Your right, breeding is tuff and sometimes it seems like its one thing after another. You are not alone !!.

What a cutie! She has definitely thrived under her "mommie's" care. :) :)
