for those who have pets dogs or cats , that go outside,, in the winter weather, on the very cold days, cover the pads of their feet with vasoline, (petroleum jelly) this protects their feet from the cold ground and it does not hurt them to lick it off.. it is the same ingredient in hairball remedy..
