Are all Persians clumsy or is it just mine!? Puffy is SO uncoordinated! I thought she would grow out of it, but it seems to get worse the older she gets. I made a CRUCIAL mistake (so bad... I'm embarrassed to admit it...) While I was talking on the phone last night, I had Puffy in my arms. She was squirming, so I let her escape onto the counter (I KNOW, BAD KIRA)... well now, all she wants to do is get on the counter. Last night I heard a 'thump' only to look over and see a flying Puff Ball make it about halfway up the wall, hit, and then fall. She is brave, but not talented Also, she's fallen in the bath tub three times. No coordination.

What??? You want cute AND coordinated? Really Kyra, I think your expectations are too high.
Spencer tries to jump onto the counter. He too makes it about halfway, and then plop onto the floor. I think that's why they are soo fuzzy -- when they fall, it won't hurt so much!

The D's are not really known for agility, but rather for washing ability.

Awww, poor little Puffy....
Bumper was my clutzy cat, always running into things or
falling off of things it seemed, but he did master the kitchen
counter!
He'd do this one, two, three, little action..like "get set, ready, go", and would most times,
make it to the counter
Dolly knows her limitations....will not even try to jump on the counters....
She did at our previous home, but there was always a stool at the end that she could
use as a stepping off place..
.
And lately, she won't even try and jump on my lap when I have the recliner extened.
Don sits on the sofa recliner right next to my chair, and he has to lower his foot rest
for her to jump on, then she will continue on over to mine..
You can tell she wants up, she walks back and forth, and all around my chair...this is new..
just started doing this the other day...and as soon as Don lowered his foot rest...she used that.
I'm thinking her age is just catching up with her
The cats get such an embarrased look to their faces when they've missed a jump don't they?

She is funny. She looks around to check and see if I saw her fall on her butt. I look at her like "I saw that..." and she will walk away like she's angry at ME because she tried to catapult her furry butt up on the counter. She often tries to jump up on the toilet (has to jump on the toilet to get on the bathroom counter...she knows her limits in the bathroom) and will slide off and hit the side of the bathtub. Linda, you're right. The fur is for bruise protection

Hahaha, I totally get what you mean, Pumpkin is so.. "Uncatty" in so many ways. She's dead clumsy, she's nearing 3 years, and still rolls out of bed when she gets a tummyrub. You know, the cuddleroll. And jumping, I'm not even get into that

My two are pretty clumsy as well. Those stumpy little legs don't give them much spring. However, with determination, they have managed to scale the bathroom counter and the desks in my office. Humphrey, who likes to go where no cat has been before, has managed to jump onto the washing machine and, in several stages, has arrived at the top of a file box that sits on top of a four-drawer filing cabinet. He also climbs the shelves in my linen closet to find a nesting spot of sufficient softness (Humphie likes comfie!). Bogart is less daring. They get practice jumping from the floor to the cat tree level about 3 feet off the floor, although sometimes they hang from the saucer-shaped level and boost themselves up from the scratching post supports.
They haven't been on the kitchen counters lately. I cross my fingers that I have made it clear to them that the kitchen counter and table are off limits. Maybe Humphrey is just humouring me because he has other places to jump.

Look at that proud Humphrey! Puffy would sleep in my shoes if I let her, but I won't because she loves to jump up and claw the sweaters in the closet and then dangle. I have walked into my closet more than once in the morning (she is only allowed in it while I"m getting ready for the day) and have seen her DANGLING FROM A VERY EXPENSIVE SILK DRESS. Of course, I can't get mad at her for the life of me, so I just detach her and supervise her acrobatics...

Saha likes counters too,but no access I'm afraid She usually jumps but never reaches the counter-the kitchen table is off limits but it's easier to climb since I always forget that the stools are supposed to be UNDER the table I guess no opportunities should be provided

Humphrey enjoys looking down on me. That's his "you're-not-the-boss-of-me"-look.
