I'm pretty traumatized....

Sasha went to the vet today for her annual physical. It's always routine and the only thing I wanted to discuss was no more innoculations. Her vet (a lovely lady who first saw Sasha last year) says she has developed a heart murmur. She did an extra test and her routine blood work and said she should have more info in 48 hours.

I am a basket case. Could you all keep my sweet girl in your thoughts? :heart:

She is my soul.

Tomi sending hugs sweetie for you and Sasha, Our Molly has a grade 3 murmur we are not overly concerned she has a vet check every 6 months. How old is Sasha now??? keep us posted, it may or may not have been there all this time and maybe it has just been picked up. Keeping you in my prayers :heart:

Good health thoughts and prayers going out for Sasha. Winston was diagnosed w/enlarged heart and a murmur back when he was around 7 y.o. (he's going on 15). Please keep us updated on findings on Sasha's workup.

Aww Tomi, I am so sorry you got possible bad news. I am not going to tell you to not worry, that would be silly and useless but try to stay positive. There are lots of possible causes and options, let's hope you get good news and it is something manageable for your sweet girl. Hugs to you and Sasha, I am sure it will be the longest 48 hrs you ever spent. :flower:

Tomi,

My first persian was diagnosed with a heart murmer shortly after moving to Austin shortly after college. Like you I was devasted but he lived another 12 years without any complications. I had him PTS :heart:

due to old age and complications of diabetes/kidney failure. I could account for at least 17 years of his life and he could have easily been older than 20.
