Oh Oh Dianne and Nancy, Acidophilus would truly be the best thing for them. Pro-biotics will never be bad for them but if these are stomach related issues, this is what Acidophilus is for. It is a wonderful thing! It is one of the things I used when getting Jasee healthy after all of his constipation issues as a youngster. See it helps to restore all the good bacteria in the gut and gets rid of the bad. So whenever there is something going on, there is usually a reason, if they have loose stools, constipation, etc. it is from bad bacteria in the gut. Acidophilus will rid the belly of this. Thats why alot of people say yogurt is good, it contains Acidophilus. You can get it at any drugstore and I prefer to refrigerate it. You just open a capsule and put it in their food. The good thing about this, though you can use daily, it only take about a month to restore all the good bacteria so you shouldn't have to give it all the time!
Nancy, as for Misha on antibiotics, this is also the best thing to give. When on antibiotics, it does wipe away all the good and ruins the stomach. I even take Acidophilus if I go on antibiotics to make my stomach healthy again. I dont know if you remember when Jasee took Clavamox and was so sick from it to the point of vomitting blood, well I gave him Acidophilus everday for a month after that, he needed it.
Im not trying to push this and as I said Pro-biotics are good and VetriScience makes good products but if you are looking for this to help after being on antibiotics and any stomach issues, take it from someone who dealt with many with Jasee (for 2 yrs) this other will work the best!
Good luck Ladies!!
The one I use has high levels of Acidoph as well as others and my girls have chronic stomach issues due to the TF and Clostridium, I have tryed many and this has finally got them somewhat normal
Nancy if it is being suggested due to antibiotics the protocol my Vet uses is that it is best to complete the antibiotics then give the pro-biotics because the anti-biotics will kill the beneficial bacteria so you are wasting your money. I, being the non-compiant client I am

choose to give them anyway but I always wait at least two hours after, or two hours before, the anti-biotics. You should never give supplements and pharmaceuticals at the same time. There is another product that we often use to get them balanced quickly it is called Bene-bac, it is much stronger and I get it from the Vet just for a week then on to the regular pro-biotic.
