I am new to the whole persian thing, and was told he was a cream point, but I have had someone mention that his color seems more flame point instead. He has been washed, and this is how he looks when not dirty lolImage

With color points it's really hard to distinguish sometimes.

His facial color seems a bit 'hot' for a cream point, and yet his paws and tail are very light...

My vote is that he is a flame point, but the best way to know is have an experienced breeder or a judge look at him in real life and determine. Also the Camera can really distort colors.

What is the color of his parents? That sometimes give a clue...

Thanks for the reply. I agree, his tail and paws are very light, but still quite a bit darker than they were when I first got him.

I will see if I can find a breeder or judge look at him. I will see if I still have the details of the breeder I bought him from.

I can not remember the color of his parents. He is the last litter and the owner had given the parents to her daughter so I didn't get to meet his parents.

Thanks again :)

This is him a few weeks back. Shows his tail a bit better. As you can see, the color is on his tail and the back of his legs as well

Thank you both so very much. I agree (might be a bit biased, but I am ok with that), that he is a pretty special kitten. :cat:

I am no expert but he looks like a flame lynx point to me. He seems to have stripes (tabby marks) on his tail and has a white moustache, the tips of his ears are white too. My guy is a flame lynx point, but as I say I could be totally wrong, maybe one of the breeders will answer. Shortbread is very handsome indeed. :D :D :D

Thanks for that Bru. It's good to be told things and have things pointed out for me. I am very knew to the whole persian thing, and I am happy with him no matter what kind of point he is. He means a lot to me, and my family. Thank you again :D

What color were his parents? That would help. He could potentially be a "hot" cream where the feet are still very light but ears are hotter as is the tail. The problem with saying lynx is that almost ALL red factor kitties have ghost markings on the tail that give the appearance of tabby. Without knowing the colors of his parents it is hard for me to make any decisions on his color. Most cream babies are snow white when born and the red babies are creamier at birth (I'm talking pointed variety here). Any more info would be helpful. At this point I am still leaning on cream point and just calling him a "hot" cream.
