Ignore me, I am totally wrong.
I thought he looked like he had a white moustache and tabby marking on tail. Heather is the expert as a breeder.
No, don't ignore you....I see it too. But I don't see the white rims on the ears which is a tell tell sign (these are true white tho...not light cream)...and a flame lynx is typically very light red and can be confused as a cream. Reni was a flame lynx (confirmed by DNA). It is just hard with the red and cream points! With flames and creams tho...that mustache or even the rings in the tail can be there because as I said red factor kitties in general can exhibit "ghost" markings that appear to be tabby and not be the tabby they appear to be. Take my Phoenix for example...she isn't pointed tho but this explains a little of the "ghost" markings in better detail. She is a solid red genetically...but she looks like she is a red mackerel tabby. When I showed her, I had to register her as a red mackerel tabby because CFA goes by what she looks like not what she is. In other words (to add more confusion...I'm sorry)...she looked tabby but would only breed and produce kittens like a solid red. When you add the pointed gene to the mix with the Himalayans it gets even harder to tell. If he were a newborn...it would be easier...ha ha! And knowing his parents' colors would help alot too.
Holy moly thats confusing Heather

I think I get what you mean.

The ghost markings are interesting, I learned something new. It's crazy the way CFA goes by how a kitty looks not what they actually are. Thanks for explaining
