I can remember a time when you all were talking about your kindles and how much you loved them.
I was so sure I would never buy one - now I am crazy without it

Three times I have left it at the gym and three times it has been turned in!
I just don't get it! I will take my towel and water bottle and clean the machine down every time and just not even see it sitting there and walk away
The first two times I noticed within hours...the last time I didn't notice until 10pm and the gym was closed.

I did find out a couple of things - when you lose your kindle you call them and they shut it down...it is then useless to anyone who finds it. Too bad they can't do that with phones...
AND - there is a kindle app you can download on your phone and get all your books sent right to your phone!
It's awesome!!!
you guys may already know that but just in case...

Oh, and I have bought a very bright silicone skin for it so it doesn't blend in with the machine anymore :P

Karen, you CAN do that with your phone! I know this because my sister's phone was stolen while she was in Viet Nam and she had it shut off rendering it useless to the thief. Unfortunately, they didn't return it.

God, I wouldn’t be able to survive without my kindle either. I’ve got the kindle app on my computer as well. But still, nothing beats the real deal.
The only thing I wish…that it had a built in light for reading by. I still have never figured out why they haven’t added the feature yet. Or at least mine didn’t have the option.

Not even the Nook had that, which is what I bought first, before I switched to the kindle. The Nook drove me crazy, always breaking down. Having to reseat the battery every time I used it. The kindle was so much better.
But I still wish I could read in the dark!

I waited and waited and finally got a Kindle. I love it and I wish I hadn't waited so long to get one.

I read in the dark all the time. I bought a great case and a light that's made for that specific case and it works out well.

I have the Nook (The Barnes and Noble one)... and I love it too!

My favorite thing (this is so horrible) is that I can read at work on my computer  I am extremely busy the first and last days of the month (finance... month end close... quarter end close...) so the other two weeks I get a tid bit bored... love reading though! :D

Ha!
I don't have a Kindle or a Nook, but I do keep a book
at the office (right now it's the dreaded Echo in the Bone  )
I kind of hold it on my lap so that if a client comes in unexpetedly,
he doesn't see what I am doing.
When I'm not busy doing bookwork and accounting, I call it office
sitting, and that is when I read.
The boss (hubby) can fire me if he wishes

Purrs,
Joan

I adore my Kindle. My daughter asked me if I wanted one for Christmas and I said no - I loved to hold my books. The next year she didn't ask - she just gave me one and I LOVE it. I read constantly and I have been catching up on classics because they are free. It's an awesome thing. And like ~k~, I got a light and I read long after Bryan turns in. He sleeps better and I read half the night. ;)
