I'm needing to know what others thought... I have 3 babies that are the same colors, 2 are boys and 1 a girl. I thought they could be blue golden but not quite sure.

Parents are Chinchilla Blue Golden X Shaded Silver - mom also is a very weird color, she is more golden with light blue shades on tip of coat. I know the babies cant be shell tortoiseshell or shaded tortie due to the parents aren't able to have such color.

I emailed pictures to Cfa but have not heard back yet.

Since I have zero experience in breeding Silvers/Goldens, I will let someone else handle this one.

Hopefully, Lynda will come along soon and help you out.

Check the paw pads. If blue golden or blue silver they should be blue or rose instead of black like the black shaded silver or golden. If they are very young though the color could change. I have a girl whose pads were pink the first week after she was born and then changed to black - I was very confused! I haven't had the pleasure of having any blue goldens or silvers born here  but would love to see pictures of your babies. I can pm you my email address if you would like, or just post them here. I know everyone would love to see them.

No, we really don't want to see any cute pictures of adorable silver and/or golden kittens. Nope. Not really. ;)

I think I figured out how to post pics!

This baby's paw isn't as black as the picture looks:

Is there dilute in the silvers pedigree? The paw pads appear to be that of a blue golden, but the body shot doesn't look it to me - of course it could just be my laptop color is off. I'm jealous! I want a blue golden so bad! If I do another breeding I want to test mine before so I will know if they carry the dilute gene. I know that one of my foundation girls has a blue golden sister and my stud has dilute in his pedigree.

Lynda,

Have your stud tested. The test for the dilute at UC Davis is $40.

Wouldn't the dilute gene have to work the same in your program -- you would have to have a least 2 carriers?

Yes you would have to have both carry it. I am not sure we will be doing any more breeding at this time. I have a houseful now, but if I knew there was a possiblility of getting a blue...... :D

Yes, the silver (dad) have the dilute gene. I have heard even though a cat is an dilute and is from a Dilute parent, doesn't mean the offspring will be an dilute carrier. Is this true, does anyone know that have already posted?
