So Ive been working a lot and I have to take a short drive for work at 6 in the morning and her appointment is at 9. I really need to take her with me because I won’t have the time to travel back. Is it okay for her to be in the crate that long without a litter box? Should I bring water? I know ppl travel with their cats but I have never done this before.

This appointment is for the expensive Radiologist ultrasound  . For my own peace of mind I need to double check nothing is going on with her on the inside .My friend Katy(a holistic vet) gave me a lot of possibilities and things we could do but it felt like I would be going through not knowing again and she said if I do get the ultrasound it will only add to the information so she can follow up. And I will follow up with Katy for aftercare because if nothing shows up on the ultrasound I don’t want to move Regan to Prozac (which is what my vet will try to do next).

BTW she has been normal for almost 2-3weeks. Thinking back I notice she WAS acting a bit grumpy when I thought she was her total normal self, it was very settle. Little things like not letting me brush her as long and not following me around as much I guess were the little clues she was giving me.

She should be just fine in the crate. I suggest covering two sides with a towel or blanket to make her feel safe. Cats usually do just fine holding their potty for a little while.

Oscar does about four hours (30 minutes in the car in crate, 3 and a half on the ferry, and another thirty minute car ride) and he does just fine without a litter box. So you should be good.

as long as it is large enough for her to move around and she has food , water, and you can let her use a tray.. I know how it feels not to know what is what... prayers and good thoughts.

She should be fine without a tray for 3 hours...
Cats do seem to be able to hold it for long periods of
time..
Maybe line the bottom of the crate with one of those puppy
training pads or a baby's disposable diaper just in case...
She probably won't want to eat or drink, but maybe have some bottled water
and a bit of her food to offer her at some point...I probably wouldn't leave it accessable
for her...but to offer to her, maybe after her appointment?

This is a great idea.

I have flown with kitties for years and never had any problems with any of them. She'll be fine.

Well, Joan does have a lot of experience with this so she would know! :)

Rosie started on her travels at around 10am - she didn't get to my house until after 6pm.
She went through 3 airports - I don't know if they gave her a bathroom break or not
but I would think 3-4 hours would be fine.

Good luck - I the results show nothing is wrong :flower:

An extreme example..
my daughter flew from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Portland, Oregon
with her cat, in cabin.
What proved to be about an 18 hour day, what with connections and waiting, and
arriving the required hours before departure.
She had Shadow's Sherpa carrier lined with disposable baby diapers, had extras
just in case.
The cat never went once....waited until Kim arrived at her new digs and set up a litter box...
So you see, cats can really "hold" it...

On our drives to Florida, sometimes 10 hour driving days, Dolly rarely uses the litter box
which is on the floor in front of her back seat...about the only time I ever saw her use it was if she
didn't have a chance to poo in the morning in the hotel room, then she would go in the box in the car...
but this very rarely happened...most times she would just wait until we arrived at a hotel in the evening, and go then...
