I'm posting this at the request of the lady with the Orlando rescue that helped me adopt Felicity.

Can you donate just $5, $10, or maybe $20? In the last month, we have had vet bills over $5000, and they are climbing. As an all volunteer organization, 100% of your donation goes directly to help the cats and kittens.
This is Lola, a purebred 2 year old black Persian. Lola came to us from a horrific abuse situation, and it has taken a toll on her health and body. We had scheduled her to have her eye removed after a kick in the face damaged it severely, but then we found that she has a level 4 heart murmur. We were planning on a trip to the NCSU Vet School, but she is anemic and we must find out what is going on with that. We just had blood work done, and it is possible she has a hidden infection or hemobartenella. Lola is such a sweetheart. She loves everybody and every animal she meets. She is tiny and so fragile, but we want to get her back to health so she will know what it's like to have her own loving FOREVER family. Her foster family loves her dearly, but she needs her own family, and the only way that is going to happen is if she can get the treatment she needs. Thanks for letting us know, Lola deserves the best now after the horror she has been through. When I read words like "kicked" in connection with animals I feel sick to my stomach. I need to pull all my faith together to hope these people pay for it and I mean here on earth.

The following is a response from to my inquiry about how to make sure any money I donate will specifically go to Lola's care. I may try to sponsor this kitty:

Joe, Lola will be returning to the vet this week for another blood test to see if the antibiotic helped. She was anemic, and the concern is that maybe there is a blood parasite. If the antibiotic has not helped, we have to move on and try to find the cause of her anemia which may include an abdominal ultrasound. If it has helped, then our next step will be to schedule her for a cardiac ultrasound at the NCSU Vet School to check on her heart. If she continues to improve enough, and according to what the vet school tells us, we may schedule her for surgery on her eye. We are concerned that she may be in pain, but we don't want to put her in jeopardy.

We can certainly arrange for all your donation to go directly to her care. She is one of our high priority kitties right now, and we will be funneling quite a bit of money into finding out all that is going on with her, and to hopefully getting her well enough to find a forever home. We are a small organization, so it is not hard to be sure a donation goes where the person requests.

If you pay by Pay pal you can note that the donation is for Lola's medical expenses in the 'special instructions' box on pay pal and/or email Lawanna at "[email protected]" with instructions that the donation is to go to Lola.

The rescue lady said that Lola's tongue was damaged when she was kicked in the face [email protected]#$% and she has trouble lapping up water so the rescue got her a fountain with falling water which she loves.
