I have puffy, puff eyes STILL! (Sorry Puffy Puff Princess, it was just too good not to use here)

I have ruled out infection. Have been on 2 sets of antibiotics. I have not gone back my doc yet nor have I consulted a Naturopath. I am trying to wait out this kitten stage. Is that dumb? I got a perscript for prednisone. I didn't notice any change.

I read that a non-neutered male has the MOST allergens, while neutered males have the least. Michelangleo got neutered last Wednesday. I am waiting.

I have taken much of your advice and have my personal routine figured out, 2 antihistamines a day and wash, wash, wash my hands, especially when I touch Michelangleo. I wear no makeup, etc. Put cold compresses on my eyes at least 2ce a day.

Today I am cleaning as much of my environment as I can, especially where I sleep. The cats all love our King size bed and they lounge in there all day. Not today, I am getting dirty looks as I type this. If I go missing, note: Cinderella did it! I am sterilizing the bedsheets, changing my feathers for new non-feather pillows. I am washing down the whole bedroom and no mo kitties in my room.

sigh~! I am still grooming the suspect every morning, I don't trust anyone else. I try very hard not to stick my face in him and I am hoping, and praying that this will go away on it's own.

In the meantime, I look like the Hunchback of Notredam. Fortunately, my black rimmed glasses hide that for the most part.

I am also looking into bletharoplasty. snort

And that is it for today.
hugs
the hunchback
.

Allergies gave you a hump?:shock:

I'm sorry, Paula, I know it isn't funny. I hope you can get this all worked out and still have Michelangelo in your lap. :flower:

It IS funny. Yes Sasha Elizabeth, it did give me two humps, on the tops of my eyes.......

Or it WOULD be funny if i didn't look so hideous.

Fortunately, I am a bit of a recluse, so I can shlump in the shadows of my own castle.

That was my initial thought! :P

I'm so sorry to hear you are having to go through all this, Paula. I'm glad you have kept your sense of humor and you haven't given up on Michelangelo. I have my fingers crossed that once his hormone levels cool, you'll do better.

The one good thing I can say is that now I'm a tiny bit more sympathetic about cats in shelters given up 'due to allergies'. Just a tiny bit.

BTW, have you looked into some type of air purifier?

(((HUGS)))

He has a huge tug on my heart. I could never get rid of him. I do however wonder what I would do if it were one of my kids. BUT, it is me, not my kids and I am just looking for support and/or answers and waiting it out.

Costco had some air filters, 200.00 plus. which would be good for our bedroom ?? Haven't decided yet. I will look into putting an air filter into our heating duct system for the whole house. I am just being cheap and wishing this would all disappear. I am insulted that I have never before had any allergies, nuffin, never.

Thanks for your support and hugs.
As I move from room to room, cleaning, vacuuming and wiping, Michelangelo follows me around, watching, smiling and winking and blinking.....lol

Since it is the dander that causes allergies (specifically the glycoprotein, Fel D1) I would try bathing him regularly. You could also try Allerpet C. The animal behaviorist, Amy Shoja (not sure last name is spelled correctly) recently posted about the success of this product on a health forum I belong to. I don't know if it really works or not - I fortunately don't have allergies to thecats-I would be in BIG trouble if I did!

What about allergy shots, that is what we did with our youngest daughter. Hers were so bad she would end up in the hospital. We also put plastic covers over the mattress so we could wipe them down. You know the rest of the routine, vacuum, wipe, vacuum, wipe

Have you tried an allergy wash?

Something like one of these:
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... Id=2754903
http://www.allergystore.com/cat_allergies.htm

I'm not sure if one type is better than another. I can hunt around a little if that would help.

Also, for puffy eyes, try chammomile tea. (drinking) I suppose you could use a cold compress too. It wouldn't help. My friend who gets red eyes swears that it helps her.
