I am with the others, this Vet needs to have his you know what kicked to even consider a spay on a cat that old, I hope she comes out of it okay. I can't believe the low, yes I said low, costs you guys are reporting for the Vets. Heck Linda I go to the same Eye Clinic and it is $100 just for a checkup. The surgery they did on Maggie I have been quoted $1800- $3000. :shock:Chase's neuter and dental were $500. I think I'll move

My vet here seems to have very reasonable prices...and also what I like is that they don't seem 100% money driven like some places I have dealt with in the past. He has done many free X Rays for me in the past.

I assume Kitty Kitty is home now...I will call my sister later and see for sure.

Dianne -- There's a lot of nice houses available in the area, so come on over! Let's not discuss how much Maggie's eye surgeries cost. (I have sold my soul to the credit card company!) At least on this second one, the vet gave us some discounts since it was only last week we did the first one. But a neuter and dental for $500?! Dentals usually are $125 and neuters $75.

Jengst -- I'm glad your vet isn't money driven. It really is getting hard to find a rational vet. So, have you found out how KittyKitty is doing?

How is Kitty Kitty?
I can't believe that vet spayed her! Maddie is 15 and I am not making her go through anything unless she needs it for her own comfort.
If he is so "pro spay" why didn't he insist that she be spayed at a reasonable age?
What an idiot

I guess you have to pay the "big bucks" if there is a serious issue with your pet. Maddie has to have her depo shot every other month. Our usual vet is so used to this that he charges $36 for the office visit and the shot. He is a bit outdated and he and his office are rough around the edges though so I once decided to go to a closer, more polished vet right here...I ended up paying $180 for the same treatment :?

Kitty Kitty is home and doing well...the total cost to my sister between the spay and emergency clinic was around $800.
