Could never use it before as Bumper was such a squatter
it was causing him blockage problems.
Thought I would try it at least on the drive down and back to Florida
for Dolly, figured it would be easier to control the smell in the car,
just scoop the offending pee away.

So I have continued using, like the idea...and it works wonderful, when she
pees in the middle of the box.
But the brat has a tendenancy to pee at the edges, so it forms a wet, cement
blob on the insides sides of the box.
Man, that is hard to clean off, takes lots of scraping down the sides..
I guess there is no real solution to this, can't make her understand to pee more
in the center of the box.

Anyone else have this problem?

Purrsr,
Joan

Mine pee in the corners too. Both Bobby and Bonnie prefer that. They will poop in the middle of the box. I use Feline Pine litter but starting to wonder if it is really cost savings as when they pee, you just mix it up instead of removing (remove poop only). But, I can't stand the smell, so I scoop all the wet litter out and replace. Kinda going through litter fast that way.

I use clumping litter for Puffy because she poops and pees a lot. You do get the stuff stuck to the side sometimes. I try my best to scrape it off and then change the litter completely weekly and wash out the box using a part bleach to water spray to get all the germies out.

I have 5 litter boxes inside the house, including one extra large one, and two more litter boxes out in the garage for the herd to use. Yes, I spend half my life cleaning litter boxes and the other half feeding and cleaning up after the herd.

Several litter boxes have rounded corners on them that makes it easier to scoop out. Another thing I do when I do when I do my weekly   litter change out and box cleaning is to spray a non-stick cooking spay (PAM) on the inside of the box which helps keep the clumps from sticking to the box. You want to just use a light spray coating to keep the spray from clumping your litter.

have any of you ever used those litter bags? The ones designed to sit in your box? I think I had those when I had clumping litter. The PAM spray sounds like a good idea Joe. :)

I use cooking spray when I wash the boxes out too, and it does seem to help.

For litter, I use Swheat Scoop, which clumps but doesn't have the chemicals and stuff. It's just ground up wheat kernels. You can also use chicken starter feed from the farm and ranch supply, but they sell it in 50 lb bags and I don't want to deal with it. So I pay more for the Swheat Scoop.

What a good idea Joe!
I'm going to try the Pam, and maybe even spray my scooper too!!
I tried the Swheat Scoop once, but I found it really tracked too much.
I'm just using the one by Purina..regular clay clumping for multiple cats.
It really does clump well, when she pees in the middle of the box that is  ,
and no tracking....well, maybe a tiny bit around the box, but it's not all over
the house at least...
But I may have had Bumper then when I tried the Sweat Scoop and he was a real digger while
Dolly just hops in, does her businesss, hops out again, never covers anything

Oh yes as close as they can get their
furry selves to the edge is where they pee!!

I use a clumping litter that I get at Pet Express
and it I'd natural.

I also have that additive that Ceylon posted
about.

I scoop every day and if a place is damp
I cover with more litter and get it next time.
Makes it much easier.

I have two boxes for the boyz!!!!

Ok... Mandu is a corner pee-er, too. The closer to the corner, the happier he is. I've been using Swheat Scoop too and, like Joan, found it was all over everywhere all the time...including my bed. If you can picture this....kitties standing in the middle of the box and taking all four feet and twisting and turning in the litter to get the max amount on their feet and between their furry toes. Then they run and jump in my bed and it's FULL of litter. I also found that the smell was ewwwwwww and I scoop a minimum of twice a day..more if I see them...and there are two boxes. This past Sunday I went to the grocery store instead of Petco and bought some stuff call Scoop Away. The fragrance is too strong but it is certainly better than the ewwwww smell I've been having with the Swheat Scoop. TK pees in her box and then runs to the boys box and poohs! She's crazy! LOL She also pats my head when I bend over to clean her box, hehehehe. I was actually planning to make a thread on this subject so thanks to Joan! I've tried all of them...World's Best Litter, Swheat Scoop, Arm and Hammer Essentials, Tidy Cats (which I like best but causes Mandu's eye to weep). Any other suggestions????
