I hope the Vet visit will ferret out what's the cause of lack of appetite. Because Alaska has IBD and Winston CRF I am now afraid to even leave them for a day tho the last few years of my Dad's life I had to leave for several months at a time (up to 4months) which I worried about them so much while gone while worrying about my Dad while w/him. I do hope things get cleared up at least diagnostically before you go and then the Vet tech can give concentrated care that will help Lani along. I'll be thinking of Lani and sending a steady stream of prayers for her health~ I know this is terribly tough for you.

Yes Dan I have alot of tuna also. Trouble is it usually causes other problems but at least she has fluids.

The vet tech is staying here at the house. She has a pet sitting business as a second job, there are two other girls who are techs at the same vet that work for her. I know it is the best case scenario, but also stressful for her and Mom.

I am getting things packed and now I have two very depressed dogs, they know what a suitcase means :!:

Arghhhh, we have been planning this for 18 mos !

To make matters worse, Jim has this horrible cold that's going around. I have gone to all kinds of lengths to keep from getting it, and Saturday what do I do, grab the wrong toothbrush
They look exactly the same except for a color dot, stoooopid. :!:

Oh no! You grabbed his toothbrush! :!: That sounds like something I would do.

If you have any Juice Plus or anyone that sells it by you, pick some up and take some daily, it will ward off the sickies.

Give miss Lani a hug. Have you tried canned chicken also? Mine love the juice of that... and also some greek yogurt.. not sure if her tummy will handle that, but I'm assuming you'll get whatever you can in her while you're gone! Even if it's cheap kibble.

We are sending so many prayers her way.

More unsolicited advice... I just had another thought.

Lately I've been trying to get PUffy to eat more beef and chicken cat food as opposed to fish so I've been sprinkling just a little of the bio-flora on her food (the probiotics that Hills makes...) she LOVES it. She will eat ANYTHING with that stuff on it. Perhaps you could try some with Lani? It is beef flavored and both of mine go crazy for it. I don't think it can hurt her.

Hugs

Oh Dianne, I'm so sorry that Lani is not feeling well.
And I'm so sorry it had to happen just at this time...
But with a vet tech staying in your home with your pets
you will know that she is receiving the best possible care,
that she will be able to tell if Lani needs to be taken into the
office.
I know it's probably silly to say, enjoy your trip with such a big
worry hanging over you...but l I hope Lani improves greatly before
you leave at least...

Sending hugs,
Joan
