Today when I found Humphrey snoozing soundly where I like to sit in the living room, I gave him a wee pet by his head. Suddenly, his hind quarters thrust a couple of times. Did I wake him in the midst of an erotic dream? Do cats have erotic dreams? Even if they have been neutered? (Seriously!)

Every night, sometimes as much as six times, Humphrey will leap onto my chest and shoulder area and begin kneading. He will sometimes meow sharply and eventually his tail end twitches a bit. I call it "a little song, a little dance, a little wiggle in the pants." Is this common? normal? Or do I have a little pervert on my hands? I suspect he was given the name Humphrey at the shelter because of this tendency which I was not warned of in advance. However, I was introduced to another Persian who rather liked getting it on with pillows and who was considered x-rated and not available for adoption to families with small children!

Well kneading is very common and they all do it. It is usually a sign of contentment. Now there are cats even though neutered/spayed that have that urge. I have one in fact! Though Jase hasn't done it in awhile, there was a time when almost daily he would do this. In the middle of the night he would jump on my bed, he would walk all over kneading his front and back paws, then he'd get close to my leg, he would slowly back up onto my leg and the suddenly I'd feel his little butt thrusting, I would yell and make him get down, lol. OH MY!! I couldnt' believe it! He did that everynight for quite some time and he will occasionally do it now though no nearly as often, thankfully!!!!

That is funny about the xrated cat but sad they wouldnt adopt her out, wonder why, that is stupid!

No, no, that cat (Archer, he looked like a Muppet) was adopted! He was supposed to be given only to a family with no little children.

It is only Humphrey who has this quirk, by the way. Bogart will knead my lap like a regular cat and then settle down there.

I actually have a 'happy humper' (name withheld to protect his identity ). He is banned from out bedroom because he will hump my leg, arm, etc at night. He loves, and I mean loves, stuffed animals or any live animal (cat or dog) he can catch. He will also sit around and lick himself, if you know what I mean. He is neutered, 14 y/o, and his blood work is fine, but still.

Humphrey doesn't express his "hot, sweet kitty love" in the privacy of my bedroom. NOOOOO! He does this in the living room whether guests are present or not. He otherwise gives the impression that he is friendly, but somewhat aloof.

I am happy I am not alone in all this.
