Somehow poor lil Persia managed to step in her poop and get it all over her tail, feet and underside :? Oh and tracked it all over the house - eeek!! So we quickly grabbed her and gave her a bath. BOY OH BOY did she HATE US!
After a partial dry off, she took off into the bedroom, jumped on the bed and gave me a stink eye.
She always hangs out in the living room til bed time - now she wants nothing to do with us.
Has this happened to any of you (the poop issue from the litter box?) and any recommendations? I think we are DEFINITELY getting a different litter box. . . . . possibly making one from a big plastic storage box.

Oh..love the picture..
It's almost like she is thinking....they don't love me
anymore.....
Makes you want to smother her in kisses...

Dolly had a bummy wash the other day...caught her "wiping" her bum
on the floor, and when I looked under her tail, sure enough...wet poopy
that couldn't drop off
Thank heavens for tile floors 8-)

She's so cute!! Even stinkeye from Persia looks sweet!!!
Have you tried a jumbo litter box? Winston was stepping in his own gooey poos and/or trailing his tail in it since he can't lift his tail much anymore tho with the jumbo box he has much more room and rarely steps in it. Also this box has a lower entryway. It's an uncovered box which I bought in PetCo.

Ahhhh... this is what I like to call a poop-tastrophe. It happened at my house this weekend. Chunk takes a poop and gets too excited about it so he jumps out of the box (doesn't bury... burying is for girls, he says) Well often times his poops get stuck to his fur. This was one of those occassions. So the only clear answer in his tiny kitty brain was to drag his * across the floor trying to detach the dingleberry. Unfortunately this further ahem... smushed.. the poop to him. He had a bath and a blow dry, I had a shower, and the floor got bleached. The joys of kittens.

Are you sure Persia is older? Usually they step in their poop A LOT when they are younger, and then by about a year old, they figure out how to correctly poop and not step in it.

Don't worry, it just happens. I have a white one, and she had lots of pooptastrophes. Persia will get more accustomed to baths the more they happen and the older she gets. Godspeed :) She is just cute as can be.. and that stinkeye reminds me of someone... ;)

Unfortunately, being stinky poopy messes is built in to their persian DNA. My non persian boy Gordon has wonderful fluffy pants and I have never seen so much as a speck of poo on his pants. The only time he ever had poo on him was as a very small kitten and he got a pass on that because he had worms and was living out in the wild for his first 6 weeks. The first thing he did when I caught him and brought him inside was take a very nasty poo and then sit in it...and he was too wild for a bath yet so he was stinky for a few weeks...but once he settled in he has been immaculate ever since.

My two persians, even with shaved bums manage to get poopy on a regular basis. I will never understand it but I have come to accept it. It does not help that Gordon does not cover his poops...it really * Muffins off and she pees on the floor sometimes in protest. Yet she is perfectly fine walking around with a dirty b-hole.

They always hate us after a bath but she will warm back up to you as soon as she gets hungry or bored.

I am laughing so hard. It really p*sses Puffy off when Chunk doesn't bury his stinky man-poops. THey have separate litter boxes now. Chunk poops in his, and Puffy pees in her box, but poops on his poop and buries both. Two birds, one stone... Also - Puffy still gets dingleberries at least once a week and I trim those poopy pantaloons. Join the poopy persian club, my friend.

I read it was a dominance thing that the alpha cat won't bury their poops. I am not sure how Gordon figured he is alpha when he gets his azz whopped into submission by Nannerpuss on a daily basis.
